Notice is hereby given that a Special Called Business Meeting of the Board of Directors of The Houston Heights Learning Academy, Inc. will be held on Thursday,January 7, 2016beginning at 3:30p.m. at 902 W. 8th Street, Houston, Texas 77007. The closed session will begin immediately after the opening of the meeting, followed by the public session. Items will not necessarily be dealt with in the order that they are printed. If, during the course of the meeting, discussion of any item on the agenda should be held in a closed meeting, the Board will conduct a closed meeting in accordance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, Tex. Gov’t. Code, Chapter 551, Subchapters D and E.
1. Call to Order at 3:00p.m. with announcement by the Chairman as to the presence of a quorum, that the meeting has been duly called, and that notice of the meeting has been posted for the time and manner required by law.
2. Convene in closed session under Texas Open Meetings Act, Texas Government Code, Chapter 551 for the following purposes:
A. 551.074 – for the purpose of deliberating the appointment, employment, evaluation, reassignment, duties, discipline, and/or dismissal of personnel.
- Duties and responsibilities of the Superintendent
- Evaluation of the Superintendent
- Consider action onSuperintendent’semployment contract
B. 551.071 – Private consultation with the Board’s attorney regarding any item on the agenda.
3. Reconvene in Open Session
4. Public Comments – Maximum time allotted is 3 minutes per speaker
5. Superintendent’s Report
6. Approve amendment to contract regarding Special Education services
7. Review of Student Performance Data
8. Consider approval of employee evaluation system
9. Approval of minutes
10. Consider action on Closed Session items (as needed)
11. Adjournment
If during the course of the meeting covered by this notice, the Board should determine that a closed session of the Board should be held or is required in relation to an item noticed in this meeting, then such closed session as authorized by Section 551.011 et seq. of the Texas Government Code (the Open Meetings Act) will be held by the Board in such closed session concerning any and all subjects and for any and all purposes permitted by Section 551.0071 – 551.089, inclusive of the Open Meetings Act, including, but not limited to:
