Sexual Health Counselling Coordinator(Maternity Cover)

£24,000 (4 days per week; £30,000 pro rata)

6 month fixed-term post; we are looking for a start by 6th March. This will allow a one-month handover with our current Coordinator.

NAZ is the sexual health charity dedicated to people experiencing better sexual health. We do this because there’s a big gap in the sexual health outcomes of Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) communities compared to the general population. Everything we do works to reverse this trend.

Role

NAZ is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and dynamic individual to take up the role of Sexual Health Counselling Coordinator. They will be a qualified counsellor / psychotherapist and will be responsible for coordinating a team of volunteer and placement counsellors to deliver the service.

NAZ’s counselling service provides professional and culturally competent sexual health and HIV counselling to our client groups – BAME individuals, many of whom are living with HIV and / or are LGBT or another sexual minority. We aim to improve access to mental health services and improve the quality of life for BAME people around a range of issues including HIV diagnosis, difficulties around sexuality, relationships, self-esteem and depression. We provide a short-term focussed intervention of 12 sessions across 12 weeks.

The role is based in Hammersmith, London, with occasional visits to other London locations.There are opportunities to acquire CPD in the role, as we have monthly staff meetings; and occasional external speakers coming into NAZ.

Due to our delivery of counselling to BAME service users, this post is only open to people with BAME ethnicity or multiple heritage including BAME ethnicity.
