Student Testimonials
Current students were asked “What is your favourite aspect of the BillyGreenHockeyCanadaSkillsAcademy?” The following are some of their responses:Dylan, Dofasco SteelhawksBantam Select, Defense: “The best part about the BGHCSA is that the program has improved my stick handling, shooting, and made me an overall better hockey player. Hockey and academics together have made these years of my schooling very enjoyable.”
Brandon, Hamilton Huskies AAA, Minor Bantam, Defense: “I like the fact that I’m able to skate on the ice two times a week practicing my individual skills. While I am on the ice, I am challenged by the other players in my skill group. The academy is a perfect place for players who love the sport.”
Ryan, Stoney Creek Jr. Warriors AA, Peewee, Goaltender: “I really enjoy going on the ice an extra two times a week to improve my hockey skills. Another cool thing is being able to play hockey with my classmates.”
Austin, Glanbrook Rangers BB, Peewee, Defense: “My favorite thing about the BGHCSA is working in the classroom on hockey related topics to help improve our literacy skills and hockey knowledge.”
Caitlin, Stoney Creek Sabres AA, Bantam, Defense: “My favorite part of the BGHCSA is being able to work on my skills on and off the ice. Monday, Wednesday and Friday we will either work on our fitness skills or floorball skills. Fitness consists of strength and conditioning training. Floorball is a European ball game that is very similar to hockey. I can take all of my fitness and floorball training and put it on the ice.”
