“THE HEART OF A SERVANT”
REVERENCE BIBLE CHURCH
(1 Corinthians 4:1-6 NKJV) "Let a man so consider us, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God. (2) Moreover it is required in stewards that one be found faithful. (3) But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged by you or by a human court. In fact, I do not even judge myself. (4) For I know nothing against myself, yet I am not justified by this; but He who judges me is the Lord. (5) Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord comes, who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness and reveal the counsels of the hearts. Then each one's praise will come from God. (6) Now these things, brethren, I have figuratively transferred to myself and Apollos for your sakes, that you may learn in us not to think beyond what is written, that none of you may be puffed up on behalf of one against the other."
(1 Corinthians 4:1 NKJV) "Let a man so consider us, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God."
Servants: (2 Corinthians 4:5 NKJV) "For we do not preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord, and ourselves your bondservants for Jesus' sake."
Stewards: (1 Peter 4:10-11 NKJV) "As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. (11) If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God. If anyone ministers, let him do it as with the ability which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen."
Mysteries of God: (Romans 16:25-27 NKJV) "Now to Him who is able to establish you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery kept secret since the world began (26) but now has been made manifest, and by the prophetic Scriptures has been made known to all nations, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, for obedience to the faith; (27) to God, alone wise, be glory through Jesus Christ forever. Amen."
(Ephesians 3:3-9 NKJV) "how that by revelation He made known to me the mystery (as I have briefly written already, (4) by which, when you read, you may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ), (5) which in other ages was not made known to the sons of men, as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to His holy apostles and prophets: (6) that the Gentiles should be fellow heirs, of the same body, and partakers of His promise in Christ through the gospel, (7) of which I became a minister according to the gift of the grace of God given to me by the effective working of His power. (8) To me, who am less than the least of all the saints, this grace was given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ, (9) and to make all see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the ages has been hidden in God who created all things through Jesus Christ;"
(1 Corinthians 4:2 NKJV) "Moreover it is required in stewards that one be found faithful."
(Matthew 25:21 NKJV) ""His lord said to him, 'Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.'"
(2 Corinthians 4:2 NKJV) "But we have renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness nor handling the word of God deceitfully, but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God."
(1 Corinthians 4:3 NKJV) "But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged by you or by a human court. In fact, I do not even judge myself."
The right way to judge
(Matthew 7:15-16 NKJV) ""Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. (16) "You will know them by their fruits.”
(James 5:19-20 NKJV) "Brethren, if anyone among you wanders from the truth, and someone turns him back, (20) let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death and cover a multitude of sins."
(Matthew 18:15-17 NKJV) ""Moreover if your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone. If he hears you, you have gained your brother. (16) "But if he will not hear, take with you one or two more, that 'by the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.' (17) "And if he refuses to hear them, tell it to the church. But if he refuses even to hear the church, let him be to you like a heathen and a tax collector."
The wrong way to judge
(Romans 14:1-4 NKJV) "Receive one who is weak in the faith, but not to disputes over doubtful things. (2) For one believes he may eat all things, but he who is weak eats only vegetables. (3) Let not him who eats despise him who does not eat, and let not him who does not eat judge him who eats; for God has received him. (4) Who are you to judge another's servant? To his own master he stands or falls. Indeed, he will be made to stand, for God is able to make him stand."
(1 Samuel 16:7 NKJV) "But the LORD said to Samuel, "Do not look at his appearance or at the height of his stature, because I have refused him. For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.""
(1 Corinthians 4:4 NKJV) "For I know nothing against myself, yet I am not justified by this; but He who judges me is the Lord."
(Psalms 19:12 NKJV) "Who can understand his errors? Cleanse me from secret faults."
(Hebrews 4:13 NKJV) "And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account."
(1 Corinthians 4:5 NKJV) "Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord comes, who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness and reveal the counsels of the hearts. Then each one's praise will come from God."
(Romans 8:1 NKJV) "There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus…"
(Revelation 20:12 NKJV) "And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books."
(Revelation 20:15 NKJV) "And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire."
(1 Peter 5:4 NKJV) "and when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that does not fade away."
(1 Corinthians 4:6 NKJV) "Now these things, brethren, I have figuratively transferred to myself and Apollos for your sakes, that you may learn in us not to think beyond what is written, that none of you may be puffed up on behalf of one against the other."
