Reminders

Protocols for Board members and Employees:

  • Remember that we are representing the school in public. Professional dress is required at all public meetings. Speak with one voice about the school. Keep all conversations in accord with Sunshine Law protocols.

Protocols for contributing to Board discussions:

  • Specific time for public comment allotted during the meeting
  • Otherwise, we ask guests to refrain from contributing to the Board’s discussions unless they are on the agenda or unless input is requested from a particular constituency (PTA, advisory board, etc.) for a particular issue.
  • Please turn in Request to Speak forms at the start of the meeting to the Chair.

  2. Sabrina Covington-Davis. Ms. Davis is a CPA and partner in Harvey, Covington & Thomas, LLC. She was recommended to the Board on May 19 by Melinda Claybrook, one of our Board Advisory Committee members.

  4. Enrollment responsibilities have switched to the Office Manager, effective today.
  5. Note: Newly enrolling parents do not have access to our old newsletters and are asking the same questions we’ve already answered. Suggestions for a FAQ list to be created to send to new parents.

  4. Appoint nominating committee to replace previous Treasurer as well as recruit an additional member with expertise in education, facilities, marketing, and/or development.
  5. Note that the Board has discussed that any new Board members must reside in Seminole County due to SCPS requirements and state statutes.

  19. Recommendation: Begin August 1st instead of July 25. Still pay teachers $100/day from August 1-August 5. Their official employment date starts August 8.
