Many things but still a longing for youth, drink fountain yth
Reality of your own mortality sets in

1st Q What Do You Really Want? 7-15
JS 7,8asks SW for a drink of H2O–thirsty, initiates conversation, break etiquett
His disciples not there, normally they would have gotten H2O
SW 9Questions why a Jew would ask a drink from a SW
John explains – Jews hav no dealings w Samaritans – rmbr~1Kyrs history
JS 10Talks of knowing the gift of God and who it is talking w her asking her...
U would ask Him and He would give U living H2O,

SW 11,12She takes JS lit [like Nicodemus in J3] U have nothing, the well deep
Where do U get living H2O? Are U grtr than Jacob who gav us this well?
Living H2O literally means moving H2O, spring fed H2O not well
But it also has a spiritual meaning , &Yes JS>Jacob
JS 13,14 JS takes her to the spiritual meaning ‘this H2O’ thirst again
The H2O I giv nvr thirst – bcom fountain of H2O springing to eternal life
SW 15 Some say she doesn’t understand at all but I think she does in part
She asks4 ‘this H2O’ referring to v14, I think she wants fntn H2O etrnl lif
So JS has succeeded in bringing her to kno what she really wants-etrnl life
Do U know what U really want? H2O nvr thirst, fountain spring eternal life!!!
2nd Q How Do You Get It? 10,14
This 2ndQ is imbedded in the first. How do you get it [fntn sprng eternl life]
JS has been telling her how to get the living H2O
Notice v10 gift of God, who says 2U, ask Him, He would give you
Notice v14 I shall give him, I shall give him
So U have to ask JS, it is a gift of God He gives to those who ask, He shall give
Have U asked JS to give U eternal life?
3rd Q Where Do You Need To Start 16-26
JS now focuses this woman on where to start to ask JS for the gift of eternal life
JS 16 go call your husband – strange place to begin, except from what it shows
JS knows something abt her that brings out her need to ask for eternal life
SW 17a replies tersely – I have no husband - Statement of fact
JS 17b, 18 JS affirms her answer and then shows He knows of her sin [cfv29]
