-It's great to see and share with other like minds and for the purpose of working toward and equitable

-Very much improved

-Everyone on the same path

-Confident others share, working together

-Not much information to give people

-Yes Māori, Pacific and Ethnic issues came into prominence in Hui - this should be the case always

-Happy that a group of passionate people with disabilities has space however we need to be recognised, heard, seen in mainstream issues

-Positive - we were all in once place/space and give the opportunity to briefly get a look into other groups issues. Negative - Disabled/Older people not having a chance to present

-Yes lots of impassioned voices at tiers from policy level to cleaning up the beaches

-Awareness

-Better understanding

-Awareness of under resourced areas (e.g. North of Auckland)

-Whatever the council implements from this hui need to transcribe into practice. Enough talking, time for action.

-Council is a neutral party and consultation through hui does encourage co-operation, collaboration, dialogue across the sector

-Very much so

-Yes within DV sector

-Strengthened my networks and understanding of the kaupapa

-I have met with many like minded individuals, heard from many and am appreciative of this opportunity.

-… presentations focused on how Council could adopt or implement into their strategic planning was most constructive

-Absolutely

-Has improved. This process is useful and important to input and influence Auckland Council in the Council Family and Sexual Violence Policy

-Positive day that lifts people and organisations above the often competitive tension that present funding models create

-Good opportunity to network

-A forum to share our different ideas is great

Comments:

-Very disappointed that I was not able to read it. I'm vision impaired and was not able to access this document

-Council is required to invest huge resources into policy development through consultation. People’s greatest engagement is when they see delivery of the policy. Often the people take heart in the process

-Not able to access with my screen reading software

-I understand more so and feel confident in making a written submission

-To me Auckland Council they plan a lot but don't do. F and S violence always get purchased back but needs to be dealt with until we have abolished F and S violence.

-Have found gathering together allows networking of value and sharing information very valuable for mahi - helps to close gaps

-Enjoyed clear, concise and short presentation summarising LTP by Abba

-Big fat yes

5. Has today’s Hui encouraged you to make a submission into Auckland Council’s Long Term Plan?

Comments:

-Will return to my organisation with a plan to write a submission

-Bit scary, short time frame but yes

-I would like to, however, I'm unable to read it to know what info is already in it.

-Yup working on it now

-But 1,000 pages too much and not accessible

-There's room for improvement for sure

-Will consider this more and work on over the next 2 weeks

-Hui feedback should be regarded as a submission. Sector is under enormous strain and time invested in submitting does not always give value return for time invested

6. Has today’s Hui helped with the writing of your submission?

-Yup know what like to take. We all talking the same talk.

-I would like to, however, I'm unable to read it to know what info is already in it.

-Great to share ideas

-Am supportive of many submissions already being formulated

Other comments:

-Next hui be useful after LTP… what issues have crystallised from this Hui

-Disabled people needed to talk to the whole hui and not just in a small group

-Too rush - otherwise it is a positive move forward

-Kelly thank you for your tino mahi that’s brought about this long over due hui

-My submission is to agree with an office of Pacific advancements sitting alongside the Māori office in Council. Pacifica hold a special place in Tamaki Makaurau and are a critical heart of the identify of the city. This deserves recognition

-Establish a Pasifika Engagement office to advices, promote, education between Council and the Community.

-Mahitahi - we all work together and get well. More of these hui

-Great venue, great energy in the room. Please include people with disabilities in all planning and events. Thanks

-Tino pae to kai whakahaere ki tenei marae

-It would be lovely if Council and groups understand that disability as a result of FV and SV is not a minority group. Disability does not discriminate. Disabled people experience high risk FV/SV. I felt minimised when groups tagged us on at the end out of not understanding how widespread Domestic Violence and Disabled People. But also experienced a very welcoming experience here from everybody here today and loved the experience. Thank you Thank you Thank you. Thank you very much for your hospitality Orakei Marae!. Thank you for the story of the sexually abused girl with mental health disability. This is what is all about.

-Thanks Kelly Maung for all your hard work! You are a real gem!

-Great workshop. Starting on time is good. But overall very well done. Great presentations and messages.

-More info the better

-Auckland City make a day as "Family and Sexual Violence Prevention day" for widely attention of this issues e.g. 5/6 June (Five/Six = Family/Sexual)

-Thank you AC for organising this hui we would like to see this as the beginning of a long term collaborative process

-I have really felt that those who became engaged shared deep knowledge of the work they know so well. It still could have gone wider but time constraints still missed a lot of people mainly men.

-The council presentation was sketchy and done in a hurry

-Showing acknowledgment of venue, hospitality, new experience enlightened my understanding been from a minority group. Future direction to be focused to well settled migrants and refugees to have a say and get equal opportunity we are all on the same canoe no exceptions.

-Great opportunity - thank you
