Dear Parents,

The first three weeks have flown by. It has been an exciting, busy time. We have been learning about each other, how to listen to each other and how everything works at preschool. It is our pleasure to watch your children learn something new each day. If you have any questionS or concerns, please feel free to call.

We will started learning our ABC’s. A great way to help your children with this is to point out letters in their everyday lives. We are working on recognizing our names. You can help at home by having their names written down where they can see them. Go over the letters with them. As for writing their names, some children are just beginning, some already do. We will encourage and work with them throughout the year on writing the upper and lower case letters. Each child will work at his or her own pace.

We will have our first field trip on Monday the 23rd to The Swans Trail Farm in Snohomish. We will leave no later than 9:05 from preschool. Please let me know if you will meet us there or caravan from preschool. Remember the field trip will be outside, so please dress for the weather and mud. There is a $7 fee for all children attending, including any siblings. Siblings are welcome to come. Adults are free. Please have your money (cash) to me by Wednesday the 18th.We will have our snack at the farm. This is always a fun field trip.

Mark your calendars for Monday the 30th for our Annual Pumpkin Carving Night from 6:30 to 8:00. Bring the whole family, have the kids dress in their costumes. Bring pumpkins to carve, tools if you have them. We will not be wearing costumes at school on the 31st. Pumpkin carving night is a fun night for the children and you to meet the other families and to show off their costumes. It a great night for the teachers to put faces to names of family members and visit.

It is always a fun night for everyone.

Have a great month,

Miss Colleen and Miss Kateen
