Academic Studies Awards

AWG Paris IT for Young Women Award $4,000

Viola Wheeler Arts Award $4,000

Science Award-Sponsored in part by AIWC Genoa, in memory of Frieda Bacigalupo Natali $4,000

Humanities Award - Sponsoredin part by AAWE Paris, in memory of Gertrude de Gallaix $4,000

Caroline Newton Humanities Award $4,000

These awards recognize achievement in areas such as leadership, extracurricular and non-academic activities, as well as high academic performance.

Only one of each award is given per year.

Awards are for study during the 2017-2018 academic year.

Applicants:

  • must be between the ages of 17 and 27 at the application deadline date
  • may study in any country
  • must have at least one year (two semesters) remaining in his/her studies to be eligible for an Academic Award
  • may apply for only one of the Academic Awards per year
  • must complete and submit the 2017 FAWCO Foundation Academic Award Application
  • must have a parent who has been a member in good standing of a FAWCO or FAUSA Club for a minimum of one year

Previous award recipients may not apply with the exception of Dual Cultural recipients who are eligible for all Academic Awards.

Dual Cultural Award -Sponsoredin part by Lee Sorenson in memory of Dudley Sorenson, and Donna Erismann and AWC Bern, in memory of Suzanne Erismann $4,000

This award may be used to attend a semester or year of American high school or an academic or structured educational summer program in the United States.

Only one of each award is given per year.

Award is for the 2017-2018 academic year.

Applicants:

  • must be between the ages of 13 and 18 at the application deadline date
  • must have lived outside the USA for at least the last six years
  • must have one parent or grandparent who is a US citizen and one parent or grandparent who is a non-US citizen
  • must have a parent or grandparent who has been a member in good standing of a FAWCO Club for a minimum of one year
  • must complete and submit the 2017 FAWCO Foundation Dual Cultural Award Application
  • Recipient’s parents will be responsible for all arrangements regarding travel, study and housing in the United States.
  • Previous award recipients may not re-apply.

These awards recognize the diverse lives of our members, their achievements, and their never-ending quest for knowledge and self-improvement.

Only one of each award is given per year. Please note: The FAWCO Foundation 50th Anniversary Members’ Award is a one time only award – only given in 2017.

Awards are for study during the 2017-2018 academic year.

Applicants:

  • may study in any country
  • may apply for only one of the Member Awards per year
  • must be a member of a FAWCO or FAUSA Club in good standing for a minimum of one year
  • must complete and submit the 2017 FAWCO Foundation Member Award Application
