Please keep it to hand so that you may refer to as and when it is necessary. Letters will be sent out at regular intervals informing you of forthcoming events and any important news.

CLUBS
All Clubs are open to boys and girls unless stated to the contrary. Clubs will commence on Monday 16th September. Greek Club is obligatory for children taking Greek. Other Clubs are optional but once membership is obtained a child is expected to attend regularly.

ZUMBA is an energetic, fun filled, Latin-inspired dance fitness program. It focuses on letting the music move you without having the structure of a fixed dance routine. This Club aims to spread the philosophy of health and happiness, increasing focus and self-confidence, boosting metabolism and enhancing co-ordination.
TEAM GAMES
Have you got lots of energy? Great! Join in the fun and enjoy using your skills, develop your team spirit and participate in all sorts of games.
FRENCH DRAMA CLUB
You will learn acting techniques; (projecting your voice, making good use of space, breathing exercises, etcetera…). You’ll practice them in role playing and acting in French and working on real play scripts!
WATERSPORTS and SPORTS CLUB
In the Autumn and Summer Terms, you will learn about water safety and have fun playing structured water games such as water polo, water volley ball, water ski techniques, paddling techniques and obstacle courses with kayaks, capsizing exercises and games with a parachute. Life jackets will be provided.
ICT CLUB
Activities: as below and many more….

GIRLS’ TEAM GAMES
Are you feeling energetic? Ready for some exercise and fun? This Club will offer girls the opportunity to develop their skills and team work in a variety of sports such as basketball, football, rounders and tennis.
MUSIC THEATRE CLUB
This is an exciting club for boys and girls from P3 to P6. There will be loads of super activities to suit everyone all related to performing. During the year we will prepare performances using the skills of singing, acting, dancing and playing instruments. There will be games and the opportunity to dress up, use props and design your own set. Get ready to have fun!
GREEK CLUB
In Greek Club you will:
Fill in your gaps in grammar,
Read and write stories,
Do crossword puzzles
Watch Greek films and cartoons,
All making this Club a fun-filled experience!
CUB SCOUTS
The Cub Scout weekly meetings cover many different activities. They include award badges, singing camp-fire songs, outings and undertaking good deeds. There will be an Annual Camp in Platania from May 2014. The annual cost, excluding the Camp, is about €40. Cub Scout uniform must be worn to each meeting. Further details will be given to those children interested in joining.
HOSPITALITY.
This club offers you the opportunity to participate in all sorts of activities.
If you enjoy art and crafts, gardening, playing games and dabbling in cooking then
this is the club for you!
GIRLS’ HANDICRAFT
During this club we will be making crafts and learning techniques for working with a variety of materials such as clay, fabric, wool and cork,
CHEERLEADING CLUB
The Falcon Cheerleading Squad will combine all the elements of cheerleading into fun Cheer and Pom performance routines. Using the skills and knowledge developed from the Club, students learn squad routines for various performance opportunities, both on small and large scales. Performances are heaps of fun and help build self-confidence and team work.
Standard costume will have to be purchased and the cost of these will be quoted as soon as possible.
HOMEWORK CLUB/ STORIES/ GAMES
This club will provide children support with their homework. After finishing they will be able to play games and listen to stories.
FOR YOUR INFORMATION
CARS
Please, always leave your car outside the school gates when dropping and collecting your child in the interest of all children’s safety.
ABSENCE
Leave of absence should be requested in writing from Miss Ierides. In the event of illness the Secretaries should be informed and an absence form given to the class teacher on your child’s return. A doctor’s certificate should be obtained in the case of prolonged illness, especially following an infectious or contagious illness.
P.E. and SWIMMING
No child will be excused from P.E. without a written request. For prolonged non-participation a doctor’s certificate is required. P.E. kit should remain in school and should only be taken home for washing once a replacement set has been brought to school.
ARRIVAL AT SCHOOL
No child should arrive at school prior to 07.20 without previous permission being sought from your child’s teacher. Children travelling by car should arrive by 07.30. The class register is taken at 07.40 and your child will be marked as late if they arrive, in the classroom, after this time.
JEWELLERY
In line with the Secondary Department, all children are allowed to wear a maximum of FOUR pieces of jewellery, including a wrist watch. Please note a pair of earrings is counted as two.
FOOTWEAR
Shoes should be predominantly black. White sandals, with a back strap, may be worn in the summer months. Only white socks are permitted.
INDEPENDENCE
In order to promote your child’s independence, please allow him/her to collect their own books, pack their own bags and so on. They will then be able to meet you outside the school building ready to go home with all the items they need for homework.
TUCK SHOP
Please encourage your child to bring their healthy food snacks and lunch from home. This will ensure that they do not have to carry around a large amount of money that they may lose. Any small amounts of money brought to school should be in a named purse.
