Based in the egg, the Theatre Royal’s Creative Learning Team create ground-breaking projects for schools and young people across the theatre’s three auditoria and beyond.
Applicants must have experience of working full time in an arts organisation within a creative learning capacity, be highly driven individuals and demonstrate sound administration skills.

Job Description
Reporting to:Head of Creative Learning
Responsible for:Freelance Practitioners
Workshop Assistants
Objectives:
To realise a fully accessible, innovative and inclusive programme of performance arts for children and young people out of the egg theatre, Theatre Royal and Ustinov Studio.
To specifically, though not exclusively, focus on the engagement of young people aged 12+ and the engagement of both primary and secondary schools.
To strive to culturally and socially diversify the egg’s audience and participants, keeping in mind the ethnic, sexual, religious, socio-economic and physical abilities, choices and backgrounds of its membership.
To work in a professional manner.
To work closely and collaboratively with each of the egg/Engage staff and to liaise regularly with each of the Theatre Royal’s Departments
To act always in the best interest of Theatre Royal Bath and be at all times an ambassador for the egg.
Responsibilities:
To work with the Head of Creative Learning to coordinate and run initiatives and practical projects in the egg, primary and secondary schools and community settings, including producing and administrating in-house projects.
To set up communication and marketing channels with which to exchange information with schools, including but not limited to: creating and circulating schools e-newsletters containing details of the Theatre Royal Bath’s forthcoming season; identifying specific opportunities for schools; promoting egg shows directly to schools and colleges which may include telesales; striving to fill our Schools Partnership Programme and developing new links with schools each year.
To work alongside the TRB TheatreSchoolExecutive Director to co-ordinate and administrate anin-school TheatreSchool programme.
To co-ordinate TRB’s Apprenticeship model alongside the Arts Award framework, which runs through the Junior Apprentice programme (work experience) up to the Young Producer and Young Associate programmes.
To coordinate and oversee the Creative Learning outreach programme and nurture relationships with our community partners including, though not exclusively, the Young Company; an ongoing referral group that works towards an Arts Award bronze.
To liaise with visiting companies to the egg, Main House and Ustinov Studio in order to promote and co-ordinate additional opportunities to schools.
To develop and/or run any other creative learning projects as deemed appropriate by the Head of Creative Learning, including alongside the egg Manager, running all of the egg’s birthday parties, festive celebrations e.g. Hallowe’en, and free events such as The Big Day In.
To identify freelance artists, arts educators, other arts practitioners and workshop assistants to contract, manage and support on relevant projects adhering to all TRB models of practice and ensuring artistic quality.
To creatively and effectively evaluate projects undertaken.
To work with the egg staff to develop and promote the egg’s aims, policies and business plan.
To ensure that all work is delivered according to relevant policies and that all projects are appropriately staffed and resourced.
To work collaboratively with the Theatre’s Development Manager to raise funds for specific projects.
To keep abreast of all child safeguarding issues and ensure that these are carried out effectively throughout the egg’s programme of work.
To adhere to budgets as set and abide by the financial systems and practices laid out by the TRB Finance Department.

Outline of Terms and Conditions
Title of Post:Creative Learning Co-ordinator
Permanent, Full Time
Hours:40 hours per week from 9am to 6.00pm, Monday to Friday, although some flexibility of hours will be necessary in order to fulfil the requirements of the post.
Salary:£21,000 per annum
Probationary Period:3 months

The egg theatre produces and presents exceptional theatrical experiences that entertain and inspire young people. It aims to be a place of innovation, imagination and learning, where theatre for and with young people is invented and reinvented every day.
The Egg
The egg, part of Theatre Royal Bath, is one of the country’s leading theatres dedicated to children and young people. Since opening in 2005, the egg has presented over 600 plays, hosted hundreds of theatre companies, and introduced thousands of young people to live theatre.
The egg programmes 60 different professional productions each year for audiences aged 0-18, more than any other venue in the UK. The egg’s Creative Learning team works with many schools to extend the role that cultural venues play in education, and fosters careers in the arts through apprenticeships, a Theatre School and an MA in Theatre for Young Audiences in partnership with Bath Spa University.
