Mr. Spina’s Class Rules

The classroom is a place where we come together to learn. In order to ensure that this can be achieved, the following policies will be in place. Your future cooperation is greatly appreciated.

Classroom Rules:

  1. Be respectful to your teacher and classmates. Review and follow all district policies. Be sure to review your student handbook (online).
  2. Arrive to class on time and sit in your assigned seat before the bell rings. Do not stand in the doorway. ID’s must be on a lanyard around your neck.
  3. Remain in your seat unless you are asked to move by the teacher.
  4. Do not engage in private conversations while the teacher is lecturing, or when classmates are asking/answering questions.
  5. Proper attire is a “must”. You should always arrive in proper uniform, which includes: no hats, hoodies, scarves, sweats, short shorts, or jackets, and uniforms must have the Belleville Logo sewn or ironed on the chest.
  6. Cell phones, iPods, headphones, and electronics must be off and out of sight during class, unless authorized for research by the teacher. Anyone caught texting, searching for inappropriate content, or listening to headphones during class will have their phone/ipod etc. confiscated.
  7. Keep your hands, feet, and objects to your self. This includes throwing things during class (i.e. pens, pencils, erasers, paper, etc.).

Consequences:

  1. 1st offense is a verbal warning (depending on the frequency/severity)
  2. 2nd offense is afterschool detention accompanied by a write up to the Vice Principal.
  3. 3rd offense is a repeat write up to the VP and likely a Central Detention Assignment.
  4. 4th daily offense results in another write up, parent/teacher conference (if necessary), and/or Saturday Detention or Suspension.

The following additional behaviorswill not be tolerated. These behaviors will be greeted with harsher consequences, such as: immediate write up, parental contact, detention, and possibly suspension.

  • Bullying (teasing, harassment, taunting, intimidating, hazing, or intimidation).
  • Foul language (cussing/swearing, or using obscene words or gestures).
  • Refusing to listen to the teacher’s instructions.
  • Fighting, wrestling, or any other violent behaviors/actions.
  • Destroying school property.

I look forward to maintaining a positive learning environment and providing you with the best possible Physical Education and/or Health class experience. In addition, I assure you will leave my class with powerful life lessons such as: “responsibility, accountability, teamwork, cooperation, and time management skills”.
