Workshop Details:

Behaviour Support Strategies and Visual Schedules

Visual schedules and supports are an invaluable tool to help children with additional needs understands what is going to happen for the day ahead and support them in learning new skills; they can also be an important part of behaviour management.

Motor skills and Sensory Integration

Children with these difficulties may present with the following: poor attention, difficulty sitting still, humming, walking on toes, covering ears, clumsiness. They may avoid drawing, colouring and cutting activities. They may excessively seek out playground and movement activities OR avoid these things.

Communication and Play Skills

The workshop will give you strategies and ideas to develop early interaction and communication through play and daily activities and relate these to the pre-school curriculum.

Feeding

Children eat a number of times every day –at home, at preschool, in a friend’s house - but what if eating & drinking is so challenging for a child that it is no fun at all??

Our workshop will help you understand the complex nature of feeding difficulties for children with additional needs & will give you strategies to help make snack time less challenging & more fun at preschool.

AIM – Access and Inclusion

The Better StartAccess and Inclusion Model(AIM) is a model of supports designed to ensure that children with disabilities can access the Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) programme. Its goal is to empower service providers to deliver an inclusive pre-school experience, ensuring that every eligible child can fully participate in the ECCE programme and reap the benefits of quality early years care and education.

Certificates of Attendance can be provided.
