The Downers Grove Handmade Marketcraft Show Will Be Held in Conjunction with the 7Th Annual

The Downers Grove Handmade Marketcraft show will be held in conjunction with the 7th annual Rotary Grove Fest run by the Rotary Club of Downers Grove. The Rotary Grove Fest will be located on Main Street south of the tracks to Maple Avenue.

LOCATION:

The craft show is held in Fishel Park on Grove Street just west of Main Street, Downers Grove. Grove Street will be closed during the show.

Hours of the craft show are Saturday, June 25thfrom 9am to 5pm and Sunday, June 26thfrom 10am to 4pm. There is NO RAIN DATE.

SECURITY:

Private security will be provided Saturday night to Sunday morning.

DISPLAY:

Exhibitors must supply their own set-up (tent, tables, chairs, etc.) Tables, tents and chairs are NOT available for rental at the event.

SETUP/TAKEDOWN:

Setup begins at 6am on Saturday.

Takedown must be complete by 6pm Sunday. Any crafter merchandise or exhibit supplies remaining in Fishel Park after takedown will be considered litter and will be disposed of.

Artist must remain setup until 4pm Sunday or until notified by committee members that early takedown is allowed in the case of severe weather conditions.

CRAFTER ELIGIBILITY:

All work is to contain a significant quantity of your own handwork to be considered an artisan craft and NOT produced by another source for resale. Committee will be present at setup to review the quality of work displayed compared to photographs submitted. Those violating policy or displaying substandard work will be asked to leave with no refund granted.

CRAFTER PROCEDURE OF ENTRY:

Previous show participation does not guarantee acceptance. Crafts are judged only on photographs provided.

Complete the application and submit:

• Four (4) current photos of your crafts, one (1) of your typical booth setup and one (1) of your production process/studio. Photos must be of work no more than two years old. Only crafts at or above quality shown in photos may be displayed at the craft show. Photos from selected crafters will be returned at the show after committee review.

• A check for the event fee of $130per 10’ x 10’ booth space. Additional booth space may be purchased for $100 per each additional 10’ x 10’ space. Your check will be returned if not selected to exhibit at craft show.

• A separate $35check if requesting a specific booth location. Requests are filled on a first-come/first-serve basis based on postmark date on the application’s envelope. In the event of a tie the jurors overall score will be considered. Your check will be returned if request cannot be filled.

• A self-addressed, stamped #10 envelope for return notification.

All checks will be held until after jurying. A $25fee will be charged for any NSF check. Please make checks payable to: Downers Grove Junior Woman’s Club.

VENDORS:

A limited number of vendor slots will be made available.

DEADLINE:

Application deadline is May 15, 2016. Applications that do not include the above or that are received after the deadline may not be considered. You will be notified of your acceptance during the month of May. NOTE: Crafter booth assignment will be given out 2 weeks prior to event.

RESTRICTIONS: The Downers Grove Rotary Club along with the Downers Grove Junior Woman’s Club reserves the right to restrict or prohibit the sale of objectionable materials in connection with the DGJWC Rotary Grove Craft Show, as well as, to prohibit behavior that threatens public health, safety and welfare.

WAIVER: In consideration of my being able to exhibit and sell my crafts in the DGJWC Rotary Grove Fest Craft Show and in consideration of security provided, and other good and valuable consideration, the receipt and sufficiency of which is hereby acknowledged, I hereby waive any claim or action for damages or theft including, but not limited to, those based on negligence, against the Downers Grove Junior Woman’s Club, the Downers Grove Rotary Club, or their security firm arising from injury to my person or theft or damages to my crafts.

LIABILITY: In consideration of the acceptance of the right to participate, the undersigned entrant by execution of this entry form, releases and discharges the DGJWC Rotary Grove Fest Craft Show, the Downers Grove Rotary Club, the Downers Grove Junior Woman’s Club, Downers Grove Park District, the Village of Downers Grove their respective officers, directors, employees, agents, representatives and servants and anyone else connected with management or presentation of the Rotary Grove Fest of and from any and all known or unknown damages, injuries, losses, judgments and/or claims from any cause whatsoever that may be suffered by an entrant to his person or property. Further, each entrant expressly agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the DGJWC Rotary Grove Fest Craft Show, the Downers Grove Rotary Club, the Downers Grove Junior Woman’s Club, Downers Grove Park District, the Village of Downers Grove their respective officers, directors, employees, agents, representatives of and from any and all liability occasioned by or resulting from the conduct of entrants or any participant assisting or cooperating with the undersigned entrant under the direction or control of the undersigned entrant. The entrant agrees that participation in any contest, games or activities may be limited to exhibits, which have been preregistered or have met registration requirements.

CERTIFICATION: As a crafter participant, I hereby certify that the items I will display at the Rotary Grove Fest Craft Show contain a significant quantity of my own handwork so as to be considered an artisan craft and not produced by another vendor and purchased for resale. A violation of this certification is term for dismissal from the DGJWCRotary Grove Fest Craft Show. Fees will NOT be refunded.
