THE DOOR OF FAITH

Acts 14:27

The usefulness of a door is not measured by its beauty but by its availability and usage. The main or major door to a city is the most important because of the tremendous traffic it is bound to experience.

Doors are gateways into rooms, cities, etc. The door of faith is the gateway to salvation and all the blessings of God. When God opened the door of faith unto the Gentiles, they utilised it and got saved in their numbers (Acts 14:27; 10:1-44). God will open the door of faith for us but He cannot force us to use it or use it for us. It is our responsibility to gain access through the open door (Revelation 3:8; Deuteronomy 1:6-8).

DIVINE OPENING OF THE DOOR

Acts 14:27; 2 Corinthians 2:12; 1 Corinthians 16:9; Colossians 4:3; Revelation 3:8; Isaiah 22:22; John3:27;1:16.

It is God that opens the door of faith unto people. No apostle or prophet or pastor can open the door of faith. God can use them as instruments but it is the divine prerogative and right to open the door of faith unto people (Acts 14:27; 2 Corinthians 2:12).t is God that opens great and effectual doors of faith unto His people (1 Corinthians 16:9; Colossians 4:3).

When God opens, no man or Satan can shut the door (Revelation 3:8; Isaiah 22:22). Because Satan cannot shut the door, he can create persecution and opposition that can shift our focus from the open door (1 Corinthians 16:9) or create distractions so that our energies are channelled wronglyin other unprofitable ventures and directions (2 Corinthians 2:12; 1 Kings 20:39,40). We can be busy here and there except utilizing the open door.

A man can receive nothing except it be given him from above (John 3:27). Without God opening the door, what chance of a breakthrough do we stand? Indeed of His fullness have we all received (John 1:16).

DISCOVERING OPENING THROUGH DISCERNMENT

1 Corinthians 16:9; 2 Corinthians 2:12; Acts 14:27; 16:9-11; Revelation 3:8; Judges 7:1-20; Isaiah 43:18-21; Deuteronomy 1:6-8; 1 Chronicles 12:32.

Open doors are not always obvious. We need discernment to spot open doors.Paul discerned through the vision of the Macedonian call, a great opening by God into Western Europe (Acts 16:9-11). Gideon discerned the door to victory through the Midianite dream and its interpretation (Judges 7:1-20). In both cases, they bestirred themselves to gain access through the open doors.

Paul discerned the great and effectual doors that God opened for him (1 Corinthians 16:9; 2 Corinthians 2:12; Acts 14:27).

God has set before you an open door (Revelation 3:8). Can you see it? The whole land is before you, go in and possess (Deuteronomy 1:6-8; Isaiah 43:18-21). These are times of open doors and great opportunities. However, it takes those who understand the times and have discernment to spot the doors (1 Chronicles 12:32).

DUTIFUL OBEDIENCE AND DILIGENCE

1 Corinthians 16:9; 2 Corinthians 2:12; Acts 14:27; 16:9-11; Revelation 3:8; Judges 7:1-20;Isaiah 1:19; Luke 11:28; Psalm 19:7-11; 119:9-11; Luke 13:24-27; Matthew 7:13,14; Proverbs 13:11; 10:4,5.

Doors are opened for specific reasons. Although no man can shut whatever door God opens for us, we may not benefit from the open door through neglect, indifference, laziness, etc. God opens the door so that we can have access through the open door. Rise up and utilize the open doors that God is bringing across your way. Today the door is wide open, strive to enter in (Luke 13:24-27; Matthew 7:13,14).

Willingness and obedience to divine command to go in through the open door and possess will result in blessing (Isaiah 1:19; Luke 11:28; Psalm 19:7-11; 119:9-11). Diligence and discipline will enable us to utilize the open door (Proverbs 13:11; 12:24-27; 10:4,5; 22:29; Romans 12:11).

Spiritual victory and prosperity does not come by just admiring the open door. Gaining access through the open door will launch us into the expanse of divine blessings.

DISTINCTIVE OVERCOMING AND DOMINION

1 Corinthians 16:9; 2 Corinthians 2:12; Acts 14:27; 16:9-11; Revelation 3:8; Joshua 14:6-15; 2 Kings 7:1-20.

Paul utilized the open doorsthat God gave to him. The result was evident it the quality and the quantity of the tasks he completed, the churches he established, the giants in faith that he raised. Gaining access through the door is bound to result in tremendous breakthrough and overcoming for us.

Caleb and Joshua went through the door of faith (Joshua 14:6-15). They didn’t perish in the wilderness. They stayed alive to receive the promised inheritance. The other ten spies died in the wilderness. Faith leads to open doors into life and dominion. Unbelief leads to chains and death (2 Kings 7:1-20).
