Wessex TREC Group

Launch Meeting

Saturday 27th September, 3.30 to 5.30

The Dakota Room, Down Ampney Village Hall, GL7 5QR

Now that the BHS has pulled out of TREC, those of us who have organized TREC events in Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire and Wiltshire are getting together to form a new TREC club.

If you want TREC to continue in this area, then Wessex TREC is for you!

We will need a committee – a minimum of Chair, Secretary and Treasurer; and we will need someone to handle membership, and someone to look after publicity, either via a website or Facebook.

Wessex TREC needs you!

Yes, Wessex TREC will need members! There will be a low membership fee of £10.00 for the year, with discounted entry fees for members.

We plan to affiliate to TREC GB, the new governing body of TREC, and once we have paid the fee for this, we will have insurance cover to run events.

We will need you, the members, to suggest what events you’d like to run, and possible venues. Ideas already include:

TREC taster day

Indoor TREC training and competitions

Outdoor TREC – PTV training, POR rides, mini-TRECs and full competitions

Non-mounted training – map reading, use of the compass, bearings and grids

TREC camp

We will need to discuss how TREC will be feasible in the absence of the members of BHS county committees.

Please come to the launch meeting.

Down Ampney is a small village which is easy to find, it’s 1.5 miles due east of the A419, and south west of Fairford. It has one main street, and the Village Hall is fairly central to the village, set back from the main street just a little east of the school.

Please e-mail to let us know you’re coming, or

If you can’t get to the meeting, then please e-mail to express your support.

Thankyou!
