3.PRESIDENTS REVIEW 2002/03

Andrew Bunting reported on his attendance at the annual strategic planning meeting in Scottsdale, Arizona where the focus was on building connections. The new committee will need to take outcomes on board in reviewing our plan for 2003/04.

The Annual CEFPI Conference in Phoenix was attended by 5 members from Australia. The next conference will be held in Toronto in October 2003.

The US held a mini conference in February on green issues. It is not possible for members of our Chapter to attend all of these meetings. However we need to find some

way to get the information- maybe some form of tele-link.

We have provided assistance to the organization in the development of a new planning guide. Nancy Myers has been coordinating this project.

Australia has received an award for growing membership of the organization so rapidly. Current membership in Australia is 78. Sustainability is our challenge. Communication is vital and we sincerely thank Ann Gorey for so capably producing our quarterly journal.

Our Web page has been maintained by an external paid organization and thanks go to Alec O’Connell for coordinating.

It is planned to hold next year’s conference in Sydney.

This Chapter can be strengthened through affiliations with education leaders as demonstrated in Adelaide at the LETA Conference.

Other issues to be further considered include the establishment of Awards for excellence in the planning and design of good school facilities and the establishment of a School Building Day to focus community attention on the importance of good school facilities.

In conclusion Andrew raised the issue of whether we should remain as a Chapter or consider Australia becoming a region and having the states as chapters.

4.FINANCE

The financial accounts had been audited as required and currently stand at……………..

It should be noted that we get a tiny rebate of ………from the US.
