Description of roles:

Authors are responsible for planning and writing systematic reviews, working in teams.
Peer review is an important part of our quality control process. Peer reviewers comment on draft protocols or full review during the editorial process.
A consumer may be someone directly affected by one or more of our topic areas, e.g. chronic pain or cancer, someone who is a relative or carer, or who advocates on behalf of other consumers. Consumers may help establish priorities for reviews, write reviews, consult on reviews in progress, or assist with peer review.
Statisticians and other experts in systematic review methods advise Review Groups and authors throughout the review process.
Supporting local Cochrane activities may include acting as a local contact point, disseminating information, hosting local training events, or identifying funding opportunities.
Translators assist authors by reading, assessing or translating articles published in languages other than English.
Handsearchers search through selected journals or conference proceedings for reports of relevant trials. These trials are then added to our trials register, and can be included in future reviews.
Researchers are invited to provide details of ongoing or completed trials that have not been published. These trials are then added to our trials register, and can be included in future reviews.
You may wish to receive information only updates from this group, such as newsletters or email bulletins.
