2018-2019 Dlugosh-McKee GIESORCScholarship Application

In 2008, alum Bob Dlugosh and his partner Don McKee established the first scholarship specific to the GIESORC Center; the Robert J. Dlugosh and Don N. McKee Endowed Scholarship. This scholarship supports LGBTQ+ students and the children of LGBTQ+ parents/guardians.

The Gender Identity/Expression and Sexual Orientation Resource Center (GIESORC) partners with the Washington State University Scholarship Office to award scholarships to students who are active in, and in support of GIESORC programs, mission, and vision for creating a more inclusive and supportive campus climate for LGBTQ+ student leaders.

GENERAL CRITERIA FOR ALL SCHOLARSHIPS

  • Applicants must
  • complete the FAFSA/WAFSA
  • complete the Washington State University online Scholarship application
  • have a 2.5 minimum GPA
  • be actively involved in GIESORC
  • must have demonstrated record of community service
  • Preference is given to students who are self-identified LGBTQ+, members of LGBTQ+ families, or straight-allies who have been strongly supportive of LGBTQ+ community.
  • All scholarships emphasize demonstrated commitment to standing up for others and what you believe in and advocating for social justice.
