2013 PGI Canada Learner Achievement Award
Literacy Nova Scotia is currently accepting applications for the 2013 PGI Canada Learner Achievement Award. This award recognizes the outstanding achievements of an adult learner in Nova Scotia. The winner will be chosen by a committee from Literacy Nova Scotia. The $500 award and certificate will be presented at the 2013 NSPGI Golf Tournament for Literacy dinner to be held on June 13th at Glen Arbour Golf Course in Halifax, which the winner and a guest will be invited to attend. The winner will be asked to “say a few words” in acknowledgement of their award.
The criteria for PGI Canada Learner Achievement Award are: The learner
· is enrolled in Level 1, 2, or Level 3 of an adult learning program. This is not a scholarship for post-secondary education.
· is planning to continue in a program.
· has attended a program for at least six months, preferably one year.
· is over 19 years of age.
· has excellent attendance demonstrating a commitment to learning.
· has shown exceptional progress.
· must have a recommendation from a teacher or tutor.
· has written and included their learning story with this application.
