Dear Parents,

The Christmas Bazaar is tomorrow!!!

Thank you to everyone who has worked so hard to help make this special event possible: Class Reps, Mr. Higgins, All Staff and, of course, the children. After all, it is all about them!

The children have made some amazing Christmas Craft items which we hope you will buy and treasure forever……… There are also some spare items on each stall as well as edible goodies along the Christmas theme. New for this year, we will have some “extra” stalls in Year Two selling great items that you may wish to treat yourself with or buy as early Christmas presents.

Thank you to all the parents who have offered to help Mr. Higgins with his clearing up operation at the end of the day. We have some wonderful Elf and Santa hats which have been sent straight from The North Pole if you would like to offer your services. The Bazaar begins at 12:00 noon so Class Reps need to have finished their stalls in good time for this start time. If you need time tomorrow, access to the hall is available from 10:00 a.m.

The PTA Committee and Class Reps are very excited about two new events which will be happening this school year. Firstly, we are going to launch The St. Saviour’s 100 Club at the beginning of the new term in January. To make this a success, we need 100 people to commit to paying £5 a month to take part. We will be offering £150 prize money each month which will mean the school will benefit to the tune of £350 per month. There will be a draw each month (with two in July and none in August) so there is a chance for everyone to win. I will be sending out a form for you to express interest early next week.

Christmas Calendar Competition

The search to find the cover for the 2017 St. Saviour’s Calendar is on! We are asking the children to design a colourful picture that shows how they see school – hopefully, how much they love it! The subject of the picture is entirely up to them but there are a few things that must be included:

  • The picture must be A4 Landscape
  • The words St. Saviour’s CE Primary School must be included as must……
  • 2017 Calendar
  • Your child’s name

I will have some A4 paper available at the Christmas Bazaar tomorrow so please stop me and ask for some if needed.

School Christmas Lunch

This year’s Christmas Lunch will be on Thursday 15th December. If your child already has a delicious school lunch, you do not need to book one as they will get this anyway. If, however, your child has a packed lunch, you can order one for £1.90 by seeing Miss Simmons in the office. You need to order this by Monday morning.

Also, thank you to parents who sent in the forgotten £3 for postage. This has meant we do not have to send the feared £140 from school funds. If you still need to send in the postage money, please see Miss Simmons in the office on Monday.

Mass Next Week: Will be led by Year Five with the theme of Being Ready. The reading will be takenfrom Matthew 24:37-40.

A New Travelling Photographic Competition

We have been asked to take part in a new photographic competition which will include children of all ages. Pictures can be taken of any form of travel the children take to get to work (bus, scooter, bicycle, etc.) although I am not sure if a picture of your child travelling by car will win first prize. The photos need to show an environmentally friendly form of travel. The competition ends in January but Mrs. Spence and I thought it would be a good idea to give you advanced warning so you can snaps some pictures over the Christmas holiday.

Buster’s Weekend Friend: Goodness

Buster will be spending the weekend with Macey Brega because she always shows goodness to everyone. However, this week, she showed extreme goodness when she gave up her own time to look after someone who was sick. She kept their spirits up, read them stories and gave them water. All the teachers agreed with Mrs. Wilson that they were really impressed with her goodness and that they thought she thoroughly deserved to take Buster home.

Teacher Angel This week’s Teacher Angel is Miss Patterson. The children voted for her because she is funny, kind and caring. They think she is a wonderful teaching assistant who has a heart of gold. She always helps them if we need it.
