The Canadian Paramedic Benevolent Society honours the memory of Canada's military and civilian paramedics. Since 1988, 34 Canadian medics have given their lives in the line of duty, while serving Canadians with pride.

The Benevolent Society has adopted as one of its goals, the establishment of a National Canadian Paramedic Memorial Monument to honour all past, present and future Canadian Paramedics who dedicate themselves to the wellbeing of those in need. This monument shall also display the names of our colleagues who have died in the line of duty.

The Canadian Paramedic Memorial Foundation is supporting this goal, and together we have developed an annual cycling event raising funds and awareness for the Canadian Paramedic memorial monument.

The first-annual 2013 Canadian Paramedic Memorial Ride public cycling event takes place starting Friday, September 20th, 2013 in Toronto, Ontario at Queen’s Park and finishing Monday, September 23rd, 2013 in Ottawa, Ontario at City Hall, cycling over 500 kilometers to raise money for this important monument.

As we prepare for this ride we are reminded of the risks our Paramedics take every day. It is with great honor that the Canadian Paramedic Memorial Ride inauguralcycling event has been dedicated to the crew of flight 7793, ORNGE helicopter crash of May 31st, 2013.
