Friday, July 15th
Hometown Golf Tournament – Come join BHS alums and Brookfield residents at the Brookfield Country Club for a Hometown Golf Tournament. Tee-off will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 15th. COST: Members - $20…Nonmembers - $40. You may register by contacting the BCC Pro Shop at 660-258-7802. You may form your own 6-man team, otherwise you will be assigned to one.
Party in the Park – Last year the party was HOPPING! Please join us again in the Twin Parks for a night of music, trivia, food and fun. Several bands have already signed up to play, but we are still interested in having other musicians sign up to showcase their musical talents. To sign up contact Angie Smith Wallace (’91) at . The Brookfield Eagles Lodge will also be hosting the wine and beer garden in the park. Classes can also register and get an itinerary for the weekend at the “Welcome Home - Registration” tent. If your class would like to set up a tent/canopy for the party, you will need to register with Kathi Smith Stuart (’72) so we can make sure we have enough room for all of the tents/canopies in the park! Her email is . We have given special attention to the seating arrangement in the park this year so everyone can enjoy their social time with friends. You DON’T want to miss this one!
Alumni Band Spectacular – We are thrilled this year to have on our schedule an Alumni Band performance, conducted by BHS band director, Jennifer Rubin. Prior to the performance, the alumni band will meet in the band room at the school for a reception at noon and last minute rehearsal from 1:00- 3:00. The Alumni Band will be performing at 5:00 p.m. in the Twin Parks. For more information regarding the performance and practices, please contact Jennifer at . Bring your instrument and join in our new Alumni Band tradition!
Saturday, July 16th
5K/10K Memorial Walk/Run – The BHS Alumni Association is proud to host our SECOND 5K/10K Memorial Walk/Run to honor deceased BHS alums, faculty, board members, or other former BHS staff members. Last year we had 75 participants and this year we hope to exceed that! The event will begin at the Twin Parks at 7:30 a.m., with early registration beginning at 7:00. Those wishing to run can participate in the 5K or 10K, but walkers can only participate in the 5K due to time constraints. Form a team and honor your classmate, teacher, or friend. Eagles Ladies Auxiliary Breakfast – After you take off your running shoes from the 5K/10K, head to the Eagles for a breakfast buffet served by the Ladies Auxiliary. They will be serving from 8:00 a.m. until 11:00.
Eagles Washers Tournament – Since you will be there for breakfast, why not participate in a fun game of washers? The Eagles will be hosting a washers tournament (co-ed) starting at 9:00. Choose your partner and call Jerry Stone to register at 660-258-5597. COST: $5.00 per couple.
Historical Society Cemetery Walk – Join the members of our Historical Society for a fun and educational Cemetery Walk. You will be introduced to some formerly well-known citizens of Brookfield as you are greeted by them at their gravesite! Sounds EERIE but it will be well worth the tour! Buses will leave the Wal-Mart parking lot PROMPTLY at 9:00 a.m. The tour will last approximately two hours. COST: $5.00 per person.
Alumni Softball Tournament – Due to the success of last year’s softball tournament, the alumni board asked BHS alum, David King, to be the chairperson of an Alumni Softball Tournament. The games will begin at noon on Saturday at Graff Field. Teams are already being formed and t-shirts are being printed! Contact David King for more information: 913-706-4187 .
Brookfield by Bus – Tour Brookfield by Bus Saturday afternoon and see how Brookfield has changed over the years. Buses will leave at 1:00 from the Twin Parks and return around 3:00. Register on Friday at the Registration Tent in the park.
Linn County 4H Fair – The Linn County Fair board invites you to participate in the FUN at the FAIR while you are in town. Several events have been scheduled at the fairgrounds for adults and children. Pick up a complete listing of their events at the Registration Tent on Friday.
BHS Alumni Banquet and Dance – Our weekend will continue into the evening with an Alumni Banquet in the BHS gymnasium. The program for the banquet will include the induction of the BHS Hall of Fame recipients. Doors will open at 3:00 if classes would like to gather before the banquet. Memory Lane Photography will be taking Honor Class pictures from 4:00-5:00 (1951, 1961, 1971, 1981, 1991, 2001, 2011) in the gym. Following the honor classes, they will be available to take other class photos until the banquet begins. Social Hour will be from 5:00-6:00 with the banquet and program from 6:00-8:00. We are also pleased to have Ferrel Hahn’s Variety Band again this year. The Alumni Banquet requires pre-registration (see attached form) and will be $25 per person. Immediately following the banquet will be a dance at the Brookfield Elks Lodge (inside and out). The Alumni Dance will be $5.00 at the door. No one under 21 will be admitted.

Presbyterian Breakfast – The Presbyterian will be serving breakfast from 9:30-12:30. The cost of their breakfast is $7.00; $3.50 ages 5-10; 4 & Under Free
