The British Association for Applied Linguistics

50th BAAL Annual Meeting
University of Leeds
31st August – 2nd September 2017
Diversity in Applied Linguistics: Opportunities, Challenges, Questions
BAAL is offering one Chris Brumfit student/early career scholarship which is usually targeted at delegates from outside Britain who would not otherwise have funds to do so to attend the BAAL Annual Meeting (Early career researchers defined as being within 2 years of PhD completion) who have had a paper or poster accepted for the 2017 Annual Meeting and who would otherwise be unable to attend. The Chris Brumfit scholarship is worth up to £1,000 (this may be flexible depending on the cost of travel for the specific applicant), which goes towards registration, onsite accommodation for the duration of the conference (where accommodation is graded, the fund will only cover the cost of the cheapest option), and travel. BAAL does not provide additional living subsidies when the sponsored scholar is at the conference. Payment will be made by cheque at BAAL Conference by the Treasurer on presentation of all relevant receipts.
