Meeting Minutes Aug. 20th 2013

The board executed the following changes to the board of directors:
1. Elections were held for open positions:
- Murari Srinivasan voted in for Secretary position. Board voted on this position as there were two candidates
- Solly Malchin voted in for Manager Coordinator position
2. Webmaster position was eliminated as a board position, and is now a volunteer position. Solly Malchin continues to serve this role.
3. The board of directors was reduced from 9 members to 7 members .
Director of Coaching Update from Armando Luna
- update on 05 and 04 teams
- coaches meeting will be held with a request to turn in seasonal plans
- software to be used to share training plans, under review by Armando, Ian, Peter
- player evaluation form developed by Armando and Ian; Peter and Murari investigating Google Forms as input mechanism
- Armando shared details of joint program with MVLA / Juventus for U8-U11B. Select players (identified by coaches) from all 3 clubs are coached jointly by coaches from three clubs once a week.
- Armando also described his dialog with Vava @ Stanford Soccer Club along the lines of exploring collaboration
- There was a lot of concern from the board around whether there was a formal agreement between the clubs, especially in light of Juventus creating a pre-academy program for boys, and possibly exposing our best players to recruitment from other clubs. Armando pointed out that it was important to expose our top players to more coaching opportunities. The debate ended without resolution.
- On the subject of team attrition, a suggestion was made that the club develop a risk map for each team, especially the older age groups. This could be done through interviews with the manager/coach, and also assessing how much churn the team has had.
