Accounting/Computer Science Scholarship

The Mission of the Association for the Improvement of Minorities in the Internal Revenue Service is to educate and develop our members to their fullest career and personal potential, and instill in them the highest degree of confidence in their abilities; in a manner that is free from negative influence and discriminatory policies and practices.

The Mid-Atlantic Region is comprised of eight chapters within five states and the Nation’s Capital. This includes Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, West Virginia and the District of Columbia.

The AIM-IRS Mid Atlantic Region is committed to assisting individuals who are interested in higher education in the area of Accounting or Computer Science. Morgan State University as the inaugural recipient of this scholarship as it is centrally located within the Mid-Atlantic region.

We wish to award the recipient of this award a $1,500 scholarship based on the criteria and requirements below.

Eligibility

·  Student must be enrolled at Morgan State University , Baltimore, Maryland as a full-time student for the upcoming academic semester

·  Grade Point Average minimum requirement, 2.0

·  Active in community service and gainfully employed (minimum requirement; part-time)

Application Process

·  Complete application

·  Essay (criteria below)

·  Two letters of recommendation (employer, professor, community leader)

·  Current school transcripts (If a upcoming freshman, use high school transcripts)

·  List extracurricular activities at school and in the community
