TRAINING COURSE

‘PRODUCTION MANAGEMENT SEMINAR

GARMENT FACTORY’

I. GENERAL PLAN
1. Objective:
The objective of the training course is to assist India in developing appropriate human resources in the area of ‘Manufacturing of Garments’ for further development of the garment industries in India and thereby to promote effective production cooperation and friendship between Japan and India.
2. Venue and Period:
The training will be conducted at an appropriate venue in Bangalore as per the following schedule:
Bangalore: 16 –20June 2008
3. Organizer:
The training course will be organized by the Association for Overseas Technical Scholarship (AOTS) of Japan under the financial support of the Ministry of Economy, Trade & Industry (METI) of the Japanese Government.
4. Implementing Organization:
The training course will be implemented by JUKI Corporation, Japan.
5. Cooperating Agencies:
Juki India Pvt Ltd., Bangalore, will jointly extend necessary cooperation to AOTS and JUKI Corporation for successful implementation of the training course.
6. Training Costs:
In principle, all the costs incurred in organizing the training course will be borne by AOTS and JUKI Corporation.
7. Instructions:
The instruction of the training course will be given by Japanese Experts in English or in Japanese with English interpretation. The experts will be selected by JUKI Corporation, Japan.
8. Training Materials:
Textbook in English and some stationery materials will be given to the participants free of cost.
9. Participation Fee:
There is no participation fee, but the participants are to be nominated by their employers.
10. Tea & Lunch:
Morning tea, working lunch and afternoon tea will be served to the participants free of cost during the period of the training course.
11. Certificate of Completion:
On successful completion of the training course, each participant will be awarded the “Certificate of Completion” by AOTS.
II PLAN OF RECRUTING PARTICPANTS.
1. Number of Participants:
Maximum of 40 (fourty) appropriate participants will be selected to take part in this training course.
2. Qualifications of Participants:
Participants should ideally be the Production Managers or Industrial Engineer’s or Supervisors or Senior staff within the age limit of 20-50 years and presently employed in the garment industries of India and should have adequate academic qualification and practical experience for undertaking the training course effectively.
3. Method of Inviting Applications:
a) JUKI Corporation and their agents in India will request the owners of garment industries to send their nominations.
b) Applications will also be invited through some of the Main Newspapers.
c) Maximum of 1 participant is invited from each Company.
4. Application Procedure and Deadline:
The application form along with the prospectus of the training course can be obtained from:

5. Selection:
a) The preliminary selection of the participants will be made by the Steering Committee on the basis of information given in the application form and by taking interview of the applicants, if necessary.
b) The Steering Committee will then recommend the preliminarily selected applications to the AOTS Head Office in Tokyo through JUKI Corporation for the final selection of the participants.
c) The finally selected participants will be informed of the result by the Steering Committee by 2nd June 2008.
III TRAINING SCHEDULE:
a) Several basic and advanced Management Seminar Textbooks will be issued for the training course.
b) Instructors of JUKI will be assisted by local instructors to overcome any language problem.
c) The daily time-table will be as follows:
09:30 – 11:00Morning Session (I)
11:00 – 11:15Tea Break
11:15 – 13:00Morning Sessions (II)
13:00 – 14:00Lunch
14:00 – 15:15Afternoon Session (I)
15:15 – 15:30 Tea Break
15:30 – 17:00Afternoon Session (II)
However, the Morning Session (I) of the 1st day and the Afternoon Session (II) of the last day will be taken away by the Opening Ceremony and Closing Ceremony respectively.
d) A particular will have to attend all the sessions to get the ‘Certificate of Completion’
