The annual Town Meeting was called to order on March 11, 2008 by Clerk, Connie Fredkove at 8:10 p.m. at BaytownCommunityBuilding – 4020 McDonald Drive N., Stillwater, MN 55082
Election of moderator (by the electorate)
Brian Nichols nominated Maynard Kelsey, seconded by Bill Nelsen. All in favor, motion passed.
Reading the 2007 Annual Meeting Minutes by Clerk
Brian Nichols moved to dispense the reading of the minutes, seconded by Kent Grandlienard. All in favor, motion passed.
Jim Murray moved to approve the 2007 Annual Meeting Minutes, seconded by Bill Nelsen. All in favor, motion passed.
Reading of Treasurer’s Report
Dianne McGann moved to read a synopsis of the Treasurer’s report, seconded by Bonnie Beecroft. All in favor, motion passed.
Norm Dupre made a motion to accept the report,subject to Audit, seconded by Bonnie Beecroft. All in favor, motion passed.
Road Report
Bill Nelsen reported that there should be no major work to be done on township roads, preliminary work on Osgood Ave will begin, and normal repairing pot holes and seal coating, Some of the costs of the seal coating is shared with West Lakeland and other communities. The roads in the township look pretty good. The preliminary work on Osgood will include adding the shoulders, accepting the right a ways and having meetings with the land owners to communicate all expectations. Kent Grandlienard and Bill Nelsen explained that the cost of developing Osgood is constantly changing.
It was felt the Road committee should continue working on the road inventory and scheduling the maintenance of the road.
Setting Levies for taxes, Road and Bridge, fire, general, etc., 2009
Brian Nichols moved to set the 2009 levy at $332,900.00, thus approving the budget as presented, seconded by John Fellegy All in favor, motion passed.
Report of Annual Election
The results of the March 11, 2008 Baytown Township Election was presented by the Head Election Judge, Diane Dalton. Connie Fredkove read the results.

Robert Kroening will be filling seat No. 5 for 3 years.

Treasurer, Bonnie Beecroft said the Township has accounts in Bayport Bank, Lake Elmo Bank, Prosperan Bank and Central Bank.
Bill Nelsen moved to keep the same banks as we currently have, seconded by Kent Grandlienard All in favor, motion passed.

Clerk, Connie Fredkove recommended thatthe township continue using the Valley Press as the Township legal newspaper. Kent Grandlienard moved to continue using the Valley Press (Press Publication) as our official newspaper for publishing, seconded by Bill Nelsen. All in favor, motion passed
Set time for next annual Meeting March 10, 2009
Bonnie Beecroft moved to set the annual meeting to March 10, 2009 at 8:00 p.m., seconded by Diane McGann. All in favor, motion passed.
Other business
Maynard Kelsey asked if the Township was continuing the process of road inventories as discussed at the 2007 annual meeting. Kent Grandlienard stated that he had passed this information on the road committee.
Kent Grandlienard asked if any of the residents know who runs the Valley Branch Water Shed Currently the residents of Baytown are assessed $32,000 plus dollars yearly. We pay the MSCMWS $9,000 per year. He is concerned as to what we are getting for this money.
Maynard Kelsey brought up the fact that there are too many deer in the township.
Norm Dupre made a motions to adjourn the annual meeting, seconded by John Fellegy. All in favor, motion passed.
