2017 European Masters Marathon (September10th, 2017)

The 2017 European Masters (Marathon) will be held within the Engadin Inline Marathon in St. Moritz, Switzerland.

Eligibility

In the Masters marathon all skaters born in 1986 and older are allowed to start.

Participants have tosubmit a valid national license of their National Federation.

Ranking/Master categories

The age classification is done according to the CEC rules:

  • U40 – 30 to 39 yearsold
  • (only skaters not participating as seniors at the 2017 European Championship)
  • U50 – 40 to 49 yearsold
  • U60 – 50 to 59 yearsold
  • U70 – 60 to 69 yearsold
  • O70 – 70 years andolder

Please note, that each athlete must provide a license-number for the registration.

Participation Fee

European Masters (Marathon)

Until Jan 31th, 2017 CHF 60.00(incl.chip-rent),Until July9th,2017CHF 70.00 (incl.chip-rent), Until Sept4th,2017 CHF 90.00 (incl.chip-rent)

Start-fee includes free transport from St. Moritz to Maloja (Bus shuttle starts at 6am, last bus leaves 07:30!) and transfer back from S-chanf to St. Moritz after the race.

Absolute deadline is Sept 4th, 2017. Late registration on site is not possible.

The participation fee has to be paid by providing credit-card or paypal.

Timekeeping

Time is measured exclusively with the RaceResult Active chip. Chips must be returned after finish line in S-chanf. Not returned chips will be billed with CHF 80 to the athlete.

Race Course

The course starts in Maloja (1’809 m) and ends in S-chanf (1,660 m). At the downhill-part after St.Moritz there will be a carpet on the right side of the road

It is recommended to inspect the route before therace.

Delivery of the Starting Numbers

The delivery of the starting material/race package takes place at the village in St. Moritz on Saturday, Sept. 9thfrom 14:00 to 20:00.

There will be no delivery on Sonday morning!

Please arrive early to avoid bottlenecks.

When there is no timely fetching of the starting material/race package there will be no right to participation or reimbursement of the registration fee.

Changing rooms and showers

There are changing rooms and showers at the finish in S-chanf. Every participant gets a clothing pack, which he can put on the truck in Maloja. The pack will be returned in Maloja.

At the start/finish area portable toilets are available.

Medical care

The entire route as well as the start and finish area will be monitored by medical services and doctors. All deployed medical forces are entitled to take you out of the race for your own safety if indications of injuries and/or signs of overexertion areshown.

Supply/Provision of drinks/food

The handover of drinks and meals to skaters is difficult during the race. Please take your own water bottle and energy bars with you (if necessary). In Pontresina there will be a water-station.

Accomodation

Please see for partner hotels and book directly at the hotel. There a special prices for the Marathon.

Important Notes

Sporty and fair conduct of the participants isassumed.

Only use the marked route/track - leaving the route/track results indisqualification.

The race number must be worn on the left thigh, changes on the number also result in disqualification.

Skaters, who cross the finish line again after having finished the race will not beranked.

During all the race the skaters have to wear ahelmet.

Please note that the route is not closed for the traffic before and after the race.The use of the road with inline skates is not permitted. At the start the road is closed from 08:30 to 08:50 for warmup. Start-position must be taken at 08:50. In Maloja there’s a gym where athletes can keep warm.

The protest fee is € 150. In case of a refusal of the protest by the chief referee the amount shall be forfeited to theCEC.
