Supplier Development and Quality Manager
DEPARTMENT: Supply Chain / Location: Owatonna/Sioux Falls
REPORTS TO: Vice President Global Supply Chain / FLSA STATUS: Exempt
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
·  Lead a team dedicated to running a profitable business by:
o  Improving existing supplier performance
o  Supporting new supplier selections
o  Partnering with suppliers and internal customers to improve the ease of doing business and eliminating waste from the supply chain
·  Promote the use of Statistical Process Control and continuous improvement techniques at suppliers to help them reduce variability and improve process control
·  Train suppliers to effectively execute an effective corrective action process
·  Direct periodic supplier audits to ensure ongoing suitability of supplier systems to meet Amesbury + Truth business needs
·  Establish an effective supplier evaluation system and educate the organization on the effective use of the system to manage supplier performance and reflect the suppliers’ contribution to the overall Amesbury + Truth business
·  Serve as the technical liaison between suppliers and the various design functions to ensure that purchased components satisfy Amesbury + Truth technical requirements
o  Possess a thorough understanding of Amesbury + Truth products and their application in the marketplace
o  Possess a thorough understanding of the production processes required to make the items Amesbury + Truth wishes to acquire
o  Assist with supplier qualification of new products
·  Drive the discovery and qualification of potential new suppliers to meet Amesbury + Truth needs
·  Serve as an escalation point to ensure that critical supplier quality issues are resolved in a timely manner
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES:
·  Implemented and managed supplier rating systems, reporting, and improvement activities
·  Created supplier quality systems in a variety of technologies including: die casting, assembly, plating, metal fab, stamping, injection molding
·  Experience working with domestic and international suppliers
·  Developed and deployed lean manufacturing methods with supplier partners
QUALIFICATIONS / PRIOR EXPERIENCE:
·  Bachelor’ in appropriate discipline (business, engineering)
·  Five to seven years of experience
·  Bilingual (English and Spanish)
·  Proven leadership effectiveness and team development
·  Negotiation skills
·  Appropriate quality certification
WORK ENVIRONMENT/OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
·  Must be able to use normal office equipment (scanner, printer, copier, computer).
·  The work performed is conducted in a climate-controlled facility with moderate noise levels that are within OSHA limits.
