General information

Venue

The Dan Panoram Hotel in Tel Aviv, is a modern, elegantly styled, Five Star Deluxe hotel. The hotel is overlooking the sea, close to Jaffa and Tel Aviv highlights. The Dan Tel Aviv is in the center of everything yet away from it all. A cross the road from the hotel are the great beaches of the Mediterranean. A stroll along the seafront promenade will lead to ancient Jaffa's harbor. With all the dynamic and sophisticated attractions of Tel Aviv on the doorstep, premium leisure-time facilities and dining options, perfect for a business trip, a fun vacation, or a bit of both.

The Metropolitan Hotel, a three star hotel is within close proximity (15 minutes walk) to the conference venue and is offered to the conference participants.

Both hotels offer kosher food.

Language

The official language of the Conference is Hebrew.

Simultaneous translation to English may be provided based on a minimum participation.

Travel

Ben Gurion International Airport (BGIA), located just off the road linking Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, is one of the busiest airports in the Middle East. Many major international airlines arrive at and depart from BGIA with increasing frequency.

Climate and Clothing

March is almost springtime in Israel. Temperatures in Tel Aviv range between 12 - 21°C / 54 - 70°F.
Light rain is possible. Dress will be informal throughout the Conference.

Pre and Post – Conference Tours

Pre and Post-Conference tours in Israel are offered for interested participants. Further details are available on the “Travel, Accommodation and Tourist Services” page.

Visa

All international Conference participants are eligible to enter Israel. Citizens of North American, Western European and many Asian and South American countries need only a valid passport in order to be admitted entry to Israel. It is recommended to verify visa requirements with the Israeli Embassy in your country.

Currency

The unit of currency in Israel is the New Israeli Shekel (NIS) commonly known as the Shekel. Approximate currency rates as of February 2007 are as follows:

US $ 1 = NIS 4.18 Euro €1 = NIS 5.49

There are no restrictions on transfer and use of foreign currencies in Israel.

Most international credit cards are accepted.

Electricity

Electricity in Israel is supplied at 220V, 50Hz and has a three-pin connecting plug.

Value Added Tax Reimbursement

According to the Value Added Tax (VAT) Law, a foreign tourist is able to benefit from a zero rate of VAT on a vast array of services obtained during a stay in Israel. In addition, a special arrangement exists whereby a tourist may also request a VAT refund on purchases made during a stay.

TRAVEL, TOURS AND ACCOMMODATION

The Organizing Committee has appointed Ortra Ltd., a registered travel agent, as the official organizer and travel agent for the conference.

Rooms have been reserved in Tel Aviv at the Dan Panorama (5 star and conference venue) and Metropolitan Hotel (3 star, 15 minute walk), which are offered to the Conference participants at special reduced rates when booked through Ortra. Double and single occupancy rooms are available.

Ortra Ltd. will arrange upon request, private transfer from the airport to Tel Aviv to the Dan Panorama Hotel or Metropolitan Hotel at a cost of US$ 38 per car (up to 6 people). Participants who book this service should notify the Secretariat of their arrival details no later than one week prior to arrival and they will be met at the airport by Ortra’s representatives at the “Seshir” counter, located in the arrival hall, level 1.
