Nanning, as the famous GreenCity of China, is the permanent venue of China-ASEAN Exposition. For improving the friendship and enhancing the exchange and cooperation in the areas of physical culture, business and trade between Nanning and the rest of the world, the 3rd Nanning—Southeast Asia International I-Go Invitational Tournament have been approved by Chinese Weiqi Association respectively. This tournament, hosted by Sports Bureau of Guangxi and Nanning Municipal People’s Government; organized by Sports Bureau of Nanning, Nanning Sports Federation, Guangxi Weiqi Association, will be held from 20th to 24thSeptember, 2007 in Nanning. The Organizing Committee sincerely invites you to send the delegation including the officials and players to attend the tournament and sightseeing.

Invitational Tournament Regulations

1. Hosted by: Sports Bureau of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region

Municipal People’s Government of Nanning

2. Supervised by: Chinese Weiqi Association

3. Organized by: Sports Bureau of Nanning, Nanning Sports Federation, Guangxi Weiqi Association

4. Co-organized by: NanningSportAdministration & TrainingCenter

5. Events: group, individual

6. Date: September 20—September 24, 2007

7. Venue: Xiangyun Hotel in Nanning, Guangxi, China

8. Participants:

1) Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Viet Nam, Japan, Republic of Korea, Europe, the USA, South Africa, Ocean-Pacific countries, Hong Kong SAR, Macao SAR, Taibei of China, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and Nanning City of China are invited to dispatch a team respectively.

2) Each team includes one leader and two players, with no limit to dan grading or gender.

3) Several guests are invited from home and abroad.

9. Regulations:

1) Latest rules and regulations promulgated by Chinese Weiqi Association will be practiced;

2) Participants will be ranked according to their accumulative scores in 7 rounds of contest. The group’s rank will be decided by its players’ scores.

3) Time limit: 90 minutes, overtime counts minus score.

10. Ranks and awards

1) The total scores of the individual will decide ranks, same scores in awarding list will decide ranks by lot.

2) The total scores of the players in the group will decide group ranks, same scores in awarding list will decide ranks by lot.

3) Awards will go to the top 8 individuals and the top 6 groups. The top 3 winners will receive cups, when others will receive certificates.

4) All participants will receive souvenir.

11. Expense

1) The participant teams are to be responsible for their round-trip travel expenses.

2) Expenses including accommodation, food, local transportation(from airport/train station to the hotel) during the tournament will be covered by the organizing committee.

3) Travel expense in Nanning will be covered by the organizing committee, while that out of Nanning will be responsible by the players.

12. Entry and Registration

1) All teams are supposed to enter their names by the fax or the email before August 31, 2007.

2) Registration time and place: All teams please check in on reception desk of Xiangyun Hotel, Nanning on September 19, 2007, and please inform your arrival time in Nanning for the receptions in the airport and train station.

3) All participants please attend the welcome banquet held at 19:00 on September 19, 2007, all leaders please attend the technical meeting at 21:30.

4) Leave on September 24,2007, or attend the tour activity at one’s own expenses.

13. The Organizing Committee reserves all rights to all this regulation.

14. The matters uncovered in this regulation will be notified in due course.
