I. Entry Information

■Contest Theme

□General Theme:Gi(Energy), Heung (Joy) Jeong (Affection)

☞ The unique charm that Korea tourism embraces is expressed as “Gi,Heung, Jeong.”“Gi” is the dynamic energy found in Korean nature and society; “Heung” refers to the rhythmic and exciting energy of Korea; and “Jeong” is the warm and sensible energy of the Korean people.
☞ Photographs can portray the beautiful and unique aspects of Korea such as UNESCO World Heritage, nature, architecture, performances, religion, “The Beautiful Smile of Korea,”Hansik (Korea cuisine), festivals, or any other subject that captures the spirit of “Gi, Heung, Jeong.”

■Participant Eligibility: No restrictions

■Number of Entries: 1–8 unpublished photographs taken any timeafter January of 2011

※Negatives will not be accepted. Entrants passing the first round of the selection process will be notified. Those receiving notification must send their original film within 7 days of notification. / JPG(RGB)files larger than 2,200 x 3,200 pixels.
※Pictures that have been revised, reformatted or otherwise modified and pass the first round of the selection process,must be resubmitted in their original format within 7 days of notification.

Winners will be posted on the Korea Tourism Organization website ( on October 15th, 2012 and willalso be notified individually via email. Please note that the announcement date is subject to change.

IV. Additional Information

□ Composites, previously published materials, or copiedmaterial will be rendered ineligible andapplicant will be

barred fromany KTO contests for 3 years

□TheKTO assumes full ownership of submitted materials upon submission and may use images in any shape or form for promotion, publication, distribution to a third party, etc. Contest entrants waive property rights upon submission.

□Both the KTO and the “Visit Korea Year” committee assume full ownership of“Chairman of the ‘Visit Korea Year’ Committee Award” winning entries. Winning entries may be used in any shape or form for promotion, publication, distribution to a third party, etc. Contest entrants waive property rights upon submission.

□All entries must be clear of any copyright laws or rights pertaining to featured individuals.

※Entries that have passed the first round of selection and include images of people must submit a“PhotoRelease Agreement Form.” Entrieswithout image release forms will not be considered for the final round.
