Title: Charlie and the chocolate factory

Author: Roald Dahl

Publisher:

‘Charlie and the chocolate factory’ was written by a British author Roald Dahl. The story features Charlie and the four naughty, gluttonous, spoiled boys and girls who visited the most famous chocolate factory and the eccentric chocolatier Willy Wonka.

This story revolves around a poor young boy named Charlie Bucket born to a penniless, starving family. His grandparents lived together in a very tiny house and it was very close to universally-celebrated chocolate factory (Wonka’s factory). Therefore, Charlie and his family wanted to visit it, and they were fascinated and fell in love for chocolate. Very soon, an article in the newspaper revealed that Willy Wonka had hidden a golden ticket in five chocolate bars and the winners could travel to chocolate factory. Luckily, Charlie had one of it. Few weeks later, Charlie’s grandpa went to visit the factory excitedly. First, they visited Chocolate Room and saw Oompa Loompas, which helped Wonka operate the factory. While they were there, Augustus fell into the chocolate river and was sucked up by a big pipe and was removed from the tour. After that, they went to the ‘Inventing Room’. Violet, a proud girl, chewed an experimental gum and she was blown up into a blueberry. She was the second who got disqualified from the tour. Next it was Veruca. She went to the Nut Room alone and got attacked by squirrels. The squirrels threw her down the big hole. Then, they went on the Great Glass Elevator to the Television Room, Mike accidentally shrank himself because he teleported. And he was the last one eliminated from the tour. Charlie was the last child left. If he won the prize, the factory would belong to him.

In the meaningful story, I learnt that I must not be a greedy girl anytime, anywhere. Also, I should pay more attention on the harmful equipment, for example, I need to use the equipment carefully when I am having an experiment in integrated science lessons. This book is my favourite because I can imagine the situation when I am reading this graceful book. My favourite part in the story is the final one, where Willy Wonka told Charlie he was the factory owner. I feel touched by this amazing part. I think this story is really charming for me, even for everyone. From this book, I learnt many useful words, for example, eliminated, reveal. Finally, I’ll be always generous just like Charlie.
