·  In 1981, The 1913 Room opened on the main floor level of the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel’s historic Pantlind building, at 1913 Monroe Ave. (today, 187 Monroe Ave.), giving the restaurant its iconic name.

·  The 1913 Room’s exquisite menu, warm French Louis XIV décor, opulent place settings, combined with its exceptional tableside service have made The 1913 Room Grand Rapids’ favorite setting for marriage proposals, anniversary dinners and countless formal dining events.

·  Notable guests who have experienced The 1913 Room over the years include President Gerald R. Ford, Vice President Dick Cheney, entertainer Marie Osmond, Red Hot Chili Peppers’ lead vocalist Anthony Kiedis, country music singer Reba McEntire and actor Kurt Russell.

·  Since its inception, The 1913 Room has won numerous awards including Grand Rapids Magazine’s "Restaurant of the Year" seven times in the past 10 years, and, recently, "Restaurant of the Decade."

·  In 2002, The 1913 Room was presented with the AAA Five Diamond Award, the first and only Five Diamond restaurant in Michigan (a recognition it has held ever since, including 2011). Most recently, it was named as one of Open Table Diners’ Choice 2010 top 50 overall restaurants in the United States.

·  The 1913 Room and The Grill at 1913 employ 30 associates and, combined, have the capacity to seat 230 guests.
