What we expect of the boys on the team:

  1. Have fun and enjoy themselves and learn the game of soccer
  2. Listen and pay attention. The games and practices are only fun for the boys if they all listen and do what they are asked. Appropriate individual activities will be assigned when needed.
  3. Respect coaches and team members. Disrespectful behavior will result in a warning. A second offense will result in sitting out the rest of that practice and a discussion with a parent.
  4. Participate. Attend every practice. Practices will start on time. Play every game and arrive at least 30 minutes early. Please arrange carpooling if needed. Let coach know if you will miss a game.
  5. Energy. We will have a wide range of skills, but every boy who puts in energy will progress. Each boy should leave the game thinking that he did his best.
  6. Be a team. Soccer is about working together to get the ball in the goal by maintaining control and overcoming the adversary. That means relying on everyone on the field to do their job, and being positive toward each other on and off the field.
  7. Good sportsmanship. Congratulate the other team. Respect and thank the refs.

What we expect of the parents:

  1. Have fun. Enjoy the moment, the exuberance of youth, and the camaraderie of other parents.
  2. Help. We have volunteer opportunities: Phone tree, Away-game coordinator, 1st aid, Field manager, Photographer, Trophies, Party, Fundraiser, Team Web site. Do help SCORE when they ask for volunteers. Nobody is paid.
  3. Encourage your child. Practice with your child. Get him to exercise 20 minutes twice a week. Get them to the game on time. Praise them and recognize their progress.
  4. Support the team. Cheer for each boy by name. Praise good defensive and offensive plays.
  5. Model good sportsmanship to officials, coaches, parents and players.
  6. Communicate. Bring up questions/concerns as soon as possible. Read the SCORE newsletter.
