POLICY HANDBOOK

THE GOLF SEASON (Important, please read)

Subject to closure of the golf course (or part thereof) for tournaments, repairs, maintenance of facilities, climatic conditions or otherwise, the facilities are open for play from Feb 1st to November 12th, inclusive.

FOREWORD

The Playing Policy of Kings Links by the Sea Golf Course Ltd. (“KLGC”) is designed to inform Annual Members and their guests of their privileges and to protect KLGC property. The Rules and Regulations are formulated to acquaint the Players with services available to them and the proper utilization of the facilities of KLGC. KLGC reserves the right to amend at any time, the “Playing Policy” and to effect new ones with due notice to the Annual Members prior to the effective date of change.

LIABILITY OF PROPERTY

Kings Links by the Sea Golf Course Ltd. (“KLGC”) will not be responsible for any injury to an Annual Member or Guest, or any loss or damage to their property, while on the premises of KLGC. Any loss or damage caused by an Annual Member or Guest to KLGC property will be charged to the Annual Member. All Annual Members of KLGC are responsible for the conduct of their Guests.

Annual Members and Guests who use KLGC equipment do so at their own risk.

INSURANCE

Annual Members and Guests are responsible for the flight of their golf balls. In the event of a ball hitting another person or object, the Annual Member or Guest is liable for damages caused.

Golf clubs, equipment and any other property that belongs to Annual Members and Guests are not covered by KLGC insurance or Management. Annual Members and Guests are advised to ensure they are adequately covered under their Homeowner’s insurance policy to accommodate for the possible loss or theft of their golf equipment.

RESTRICTION, SUSPENSION OR EXPULSION

Any Annual Member who violates the Terms & Agreement and Rules & Regulations as defined in the Annual Member’s Policy Handbook shall be subject to suspension and/or immediate revocation of his or her Annual Membership. All Annual Members found to be in violation may be denied KLGC privileges. This denial of privileges may apply to one or more family Members in Management’s sole and absolute discretion.

KLGC MANAGEMENT & NATURE OF MEMBERSHIP

Kings Links by the Sea Golf Course Ltd. (“KLGC”) is privately owned and operated. Annual Membership at KLGC is a privilege being made available for the use and benefit of frequent players of golf. Annual Membership does not confer any ownership of KLGC property or assets.

As the operator of KLGC, Management retains the right to decide all issues regarding operation and management of KLGC, including but not limited to the booking of tee times and reservation of the golf course by groups and tournaments. Management reserves the right to permit public green fee play at KLGC.

Management reserves the discretion to implement, revise, restrict or otherwise control all aspects of the sale and/or benefits or Annual Membership and the privileges that Management grants holders of those Annual Memberships. Benefits or dues shall not change during the annual contractual period of an Annual Membership. Management reserves the right to refuse the sale of an Annual Membership to any person or party.

An Annual Member obtains a non equity, non participatory right to the use of KLGC and obtains no rights, benefits or responsibilities with regard to the ownership or operation of KLGC or the Annual Membership other than those expressly stated with regard to the benefits included in the Annual Membership Option(s) purchased and herein defined.

The Annual Member is the person obligated for payment of all fees, dues & fines. Annual Memberships are not transferable and not refundable once the Playing Season has commenced.

BENEFITS OF MEMBERSHIP

Playing Privileges begin upon (1) Payment of the Annual Membership fees in full; (2) Acceptance of the Terms of Agreement; and (3) Acceptance of the Rules & Regulations as herein defined.

Each Annual Member is entitled to benefits as defined by the selected Annual Membership Options and herein. Playing privileges are provided during the current Season (Feb 1st to November 12thinclusive), subject to Management’s right to suspend or terminate Annual Memberships as defined herein.

Only the individual Annual Member (and designated additional family member(s)) as here defined are entitled to the use of KLGC. Use of KLGC is conditional upon the timely payment of all fees, deposits, dues and satisfaction of any obligation owed to KLGC.

All Annual Members in good standing are entitled to participate in all KLGC sponsored events.

KLGC PLAYING CATEGORIES

There are five categories of Annual Membership Options available:

Unlimited Individual: Annual Members are not required to pay daily green fees, and may access the golf course facilities any day of the week, barring any necessary closures, as determined by Management (for example, maintenance, tournaments or the weather).

Restricted UnlimitedIndividual: Annual Members are not required to pay daily green fees, and may access the golf course facilities any Monday through Friday, excluding holidays and barring any necessary closures, as determined by Management (for example, maintenance, tournaments or the weather). Restricted Unlimited Individual Members may play on the weekends at the KLGC guest rate.

20 Round Passholder: Consists of 20 single round passes valid any time.

12 Round Passholder: Consists of 12 single round passes valid any time.

Junior: Annual Members are between the ages of 12 and 18 years and have Unlimited Restricted playing privileges anytime on weekdays, and may play after 2:00pm on, Weekends & Holidays. Younger players may join at the discretion of Management. Junior members who pay the Annual Junior Fee in full are not required to pay daily green fees and may access the golf course facilities during permissible hours, excluding holidays and barring necessary closures. Junior Members who play outside the tee time restrictions must pay the Junior Green Fee rate that applies for that day.

* Members are entitled to one booking per day.

HOURS OF OPERATION

The golf course is open for play from Feb 1st to November 12thinclusive, barring any necessary closures. The hours of operation will change at the sole discretion of KLGC. Operating hours will be extended to coincide with daylight hours and will be posted at kingslinks.ca.

METHOD OF PAYMENT

All purchases made and services used by Annual Members and their Guests must be paid at point of sale by credit card, debit card or cash. Credit cards accepted are Visa and MasterCard only. There will be NO “on account privileges.” Cheques will be accepted for the Annual Membership fees only.

GUEST DEFINITIONS & RULES

All Guests must register in person at the Golf Shop before play begins or before using practice facilities. Annual Members are responsible for the conduct and dress of their Guests while on the premises of the course & clubhouse areas. Annual Members must accompany their Guests in a round of golf. Unaccompanied Guests will be charged the Adult green fee rate if the sponsoring Annual Member does not tee off with the group. Guests do not have any member privileges at KLGC. Annual Members sponsoring a Guest are responsible for any debt incurred and any damage to KLGC property caused by the Guest. Please refer to the 2016 Rate Sheet for Guest green fee rates and permissible hours of play.

SERVICES

POWERCARTS

Power carts are available for rent and must be reserved at time of booking. Operators must be 16 years of age or older and have a valid driver’s license. Only two golfers and two sets of clubs are allowed per cart. Please use safe driving procedures and observe all signage, stakes and markers used to guide carts.

HANDICAP RECORDS

A Handicap computer is available at the Clubhouse to assist Annual Members in logging on to the RCGA Handicap Network and keep a record of their rounds of golf. In order to maintain an accurate handicap index it is required that golfers enter all games played (9 holes or 18), both at home and away. A valid handicap index is required to participate in KLGC Club events.

Please use the following guidelines to book tee times:

ANNUAL MEMBERS may book 14 days in advance. Unclaimed tee times are offered to the Public 7 days in advance with the exception of Weekend morning tee times up until 7:30am – 10:00am. When booking tee times, Annual Members are to advise if other Annual Members, Guests or Juniors will be in the same group. Annual Members are requested to register their Guests’ names at time of booking.

TOURNAMENTS & GROUP BOOKINGS

Groups and tournaments must be booked in advance. Please contact the Group & Tournament Coordinator at (604) 952-0999 for information and booking details.

TEE TIME CANCELLATION POLICY

24 hours advance notice is required for cancellations and changes in tee times (except for emergencies, weather and illness). Failure to do so will result in a cancellation fee of $25.00. It is the responsibility of the Annual Member who books the tee time to ensure everyone in the group is aware of their tee time.

The purchase of Annual Membership at KLGC does not guarantee tee times on the golf course. The purchaser of an Annual Membership is not entitled to or granted any rights with regard to access to specific tee times, other than the advance reservations outlined on a tee time availability basis.

Management reserves the right to sell, advertise and promote KLGC in any manner. Management reserves the right to schedule, conduct and/or authorize golf events that include non Annual Members. During such events, Annual Members may not be able to use the facilities of KLGC.

STARTING RESTRICTIONS & REGISTRATION

All Annual Members and Guests must personally register in the Golf Shop before using the golf course facilities, and check in at least 15 minutes before your scheduled tee time. In the event of a Shotgun Start, 30 minutes before tee off would be preferable. No group may commence play until all green fees are accounted for.

Annual Members are responsible for the conduct and dress code of their Guests while on the premises of the golf course and clubhouse areas. Annual Members must accompany their Guests in a round of golf. Unaccompanied Guests will be charged the Adult daily green fee rate if the sponsoring Annual Member does not tee off with the group.

No play may commence other than at the 1st tee without permission of the Golf Shop. Playing groups shall consist of no more than 4 players, unless Management allows otherwise.

CARE OF THE COURSE

Annual Members and Guests shall confine all practice activity to the designated practice areas, i.e. the driving range, practice putting green and practice chipping area. USING THE GOLF COURSE AS A PRACTICE FACILITY IS PROHIBITED. On the putting green, a player should carefully repair any ball marks or other visible damage. All players should be careful to not cause any damage to the putting greens when handling the flagstick or removing a ball from the hole. Carry bags should be left a safe distance from the edge of the putting green. Pull carts and powercarts should be kept 30 feet away from tees, greens and bunkers. Please do not direct pull carts & powercarts between bunkers and greens. The course superintendent will advise when course conditions prohibit play or use of motorized carts.

PACE OF PLAY

A round of golf at Kings Links by the Sea Golf Course Ltd. should be finished within 4 hours, 20 minutes. Slower playing groups must allow following groups to play through when there is more than one open fairway in front of them. If a stop is made for an extended break after 9 holes, the following group may overtake you without asking for permission. When searching for balls, please restrict your search to the lost balls within the group. 5 minutes is allowed according to the RCGA Rules of Golf. Looking for balls other than in your own group is prohibited.

DRESS CODE

Appropriate golf attire is required at all times on the golf course and in the clubhouse areas. Denim jeans or shorts, tennis shorts, swimsuits, jogging clothes, camouflage and tank tops are not acceptable. Footwear with socks must be worn at all times.

LADIES: Golf shirts, tops with crew necks and sleeves, or sleeveless tops with collars must be worn. Tailored slacks and shorts, Bermuda length shorts, skirts or tailored golf dresses no more than 6 inches above the knee are permitted. Suitable golf socks and shoes must be worn on the golf course.

MEN: Collared or mock collared golf shirt with sleeves. Golf slacks must be worn – no denim jeans; shorts are permitted but must be tailored. Tennis shorts, jogging or gym shorts are not permitted. Suitable golf socks and footwear must be worn at all times on the golf course and the clubhouse area.

HOLE IN ONE INSURANCE

All Annual Members at Kings Links by the Sea Golf Course Ltd. are required to participate in the hole in one insurance program. The assessment is $20.00 per person with a cash payout of $200.00 each time an Annual Member of our club scores an ace. Once the fund is depleted, another assessment of $20.00 each will be made. Non Annual Members who make a hole in one at KLGC are not included in this program.

RULES OF GOLF & ETIQUETTE

The Rules of Golf is approved by the RCGA in conjunction with the Local Rules, which appear on the scorecards and that are posted in the Clubhouse shall apply.

Terms and conditions of the Rules & Regulations and the Annual Member’s Policy Handbook may be changed and/or amended as required by Management.
