Once the registration form has been received, you will be contacted via your preferred method of communication to confirm that you are on the waiting list.
Following this, a member of the team will be in touch as soon as a space becomes available at your selected location – we will do our best to give you the most convenient day to yourself but can only offer the spaces available.
In some cases, places may be available for an immediate start.

Terms & Conditions
General Rules (everyone!):
Wear the blue overshoes provided; these must be worn before entering the pool area, specifically during wet / muddy weather. If no blue shoes are available – please remove muddy shoes / boots
Avoid taking food into the changing facilities or onto poolside (drinks are allowed in plastic containers)
Entry into the facility is not permitted until a member of staff is present
Show appreciation and support to your child and other parents/children
Take care not to remove clothing on benches and on pegs, when changing.
Responsible Adults are expected to:
Prepare the swimmer for lessons, where possible, introduce them to water, blowing bubbles, getting hair / face wet etc.
Deliver and collect the child punctually to and from lessons and remain on the premises during lesson time. You must inform the teacher if you have to unavoidably leave during the lesson.
Ensure any changes of the child's health, contact details or relevant information are reported to the teacher.
Be fully responsible for children including those not attending lessons before and after lesson time.
Adhere to the no smoking policy on the premises. People wishing to smoke should do so outside of the specified area.
Support the teacher appropriately and raise any concerns you have in an appropriate manner.
If you wish to have a discussion with the teacher please arrange to do this via phone, text or e-mail.
Ensure communication with swimmers whilst the lesson is underway are kept to a minimum – Teachers will involve parents if necessary
Provide sensible swim wear, no long shorts (past the knee), tie long hair back, goggles can be worn but will be removed if they are becoming a distraction.
Swimmers who have suffered from diarrhoea and / or vomiting should refrain from swimming for 2 weeks after the most recent episode
Follow teacher instructions if any alarm signals – we have no set alarm tests during out session time
Swimmers are expected to:
Wait quietly for their lesson and do not interfere with swimmers in the water or play with the toys on the side.
Be ready to enter the pool 5 minutes before the lesson starting, standing on the floor NOT sitting on the wall
Shower, and use the toilet before the lesson starts
Wear the correct / appropriate swim wear , put it on before getting the pool if possible to reduce changing room congestion
Tie long hair back , or wear a swimming cap
Do not wear any jewellery during swimming lessons
Respect others in the lesson, be attentive, listen to the teacher and try their best!
Understand that poor / aggressive behaviour will not be tolerated and may result in removal from the lessons with no refund.
Pool Rules:
No diving at any time!
Only jump into the pool under full supervision of a teacher and make sure it is safe to do so
No running, acrobatics, shouting or boisterous behaviour in the pool hall
No Spitting water
During free time / fun sessions swimmers must stay in the water, and not stand on large floats
Payments:
Payments for the term are to be paid in full and in advance of the course
If fee’s are not paid by the specified date, Julies Swim School reserves the right to refuse attendance.
Payment secures the place, if a payment is not made swimmers may lose their place
Refunds:
Julies Swim School is under no obligation to refund of transfer money in the event that swimmers are unable to attend part of or the entire course
Julies Swim School reserve the right to cancel one lesson per term without issuing a refund. Any additional lessons will be credited off the next term of lessons
Julies Swim School will transfer funds for missed terms in the event of long term illness / breaking of limbs – with relevant proof from a GP.
Refunds will not be granted for any lessons terminated due to inappropriate behaviour by either swimmer or responsible adult.
Cancellation:
In the event lessons are cancelled by the participant no refund will be given, unless it is backed by a GP letter proving medical circumstance.
Respect:
Please respect the facilities at Julies Swim School and observe the signage surrounding the pools / changing areas.
Julies Swim School operates a zero tolerance policy of abusive / aggressive behaviour, failure to adhere to these terms and conditions may result in removal from the lessons with immediate effect and no refund.
Photographs:
Julies Swim School may, occasionally take pictures to update the website, if you prefer your child NOT to appear on our website please inform a member of staff.
Photographs of swimmers in the water are allowed to be taken PROVIDING permission is granted from the teacher , please be cautious not to include any other swimmers in your personal pictures unless you have permission from the relevant parent / guardian.
Lost Property:
Please DO NOT leave any valuables in the changing area / poolside area unattended, Julies Swim School take NO responsibility for any items lost or stolen.
Both changing area’s and poolside are checked for lost property upon leaving of the facility, and items of clothing will be picked up and returned the following week. Although we do our best to read labels – it is not always possible to locate the owner. If, at the end of the term the clothing has not been identified / claimed it will be taken to a charity shop.
Notifications of lost property MAY be displayed on our facebook page, e-mails / text messages WILL NOT be sent out under these circumstances.
Underwear found including, socks, tights, knickers. Pants, vest will be binned immediately.
N.B Julies Swim school have recently (November 2015) made changes to the criteria used to pass ‘stages’ of swimming, this is to ensure high standards of swimming are taught consistently and that all teachers are working off the same programme. We thrive on giving our children the best possible teaching experience and feel this was the best way to progress our development further. We do however, understand that this may cause some confusion during the transition period from old to new and we thank you for your patience and cooperation with this matter. *Julie
