Any form that has been submitted without the relevant information, including the exactdetails of which regulation is being suspended (or waived), will be returned for correct completion before being processed.

Appendix 1: Requests concerning submission of thesis for research students

There is a clear distinction between applications to extend or exceed the thesis submission deadline. If the former is granted, the submission deadline will be extended to include the agreed period of extension. If the student submits within that period, they will be classed as having submitted on time. If the latter is granted, the original submission deadline will not be extended, but the student will be permitted to enter a period of continued registration to submit after that deadline (i.e. to submit late).

Please note that even if an application is made under the former category above, the latter may be granted if it is not considered that a sufficiently strong case has been made to extend the submission deadline.
