THANK YOUfor adopting a dog from All Shepherd Rescue. We believe this dog will be a great fit for you. There is usually a transition time, however, and we want to assure you we will help you through this period, as long (or short) as it lasts.

Feel free to call any of us listed for any questions or concerns that arise.

We know of no medical or behavioral issues that we haven't already told you about BUT if something comes up we have folks who may be able to help you through a bump in the road!

We want to help you make your new family member's transition as easy as possible.

Please don't hesitate to email us or call us!

Some folks have told us they “wished they had called us earlier" but were afraid if they didn't appear to be knowledgeable we “would take their dog back!” We want our dogs to have wonderful homes and pulling them out is the last things in our minds.

Dogs will change every day in their new " forever' homes as they become more and more comfortable...sometimes, like kids, they "test" the boundaries of acceptable behavior and when they find some inconsistencies they push even harder.

We stand ready to help you with anything...... we want this new family member to be a welcome and well-behaved member of your family.

Here are some of the questions we routinely field and welcome:

1. He walked fine before but now lunges at other dogs.

2. He won't come down (or up) the stairs.

3. He doesn't like his food he won't eat.

4. He jumps on me.

5. He didn't seem to like the crate.

And so on.

Also, and it's not common but it needs anIMMEDIATE FIX

“The dog seems to glare at me",

“The” dog growled at my neighbor',

“The dog won't get off the bed" etc

As a dog tests his new family for boundaries he needs immediate and quick reinforcement of “acceptable behavior", and anIMMEDIATE and EFFECTIVE CORRECTION of UNACCEPTABLEBEHAVIOR! Glaring, growling, lunging, etc., are all UNACCEPTABLE BEHAVIORS.

One of the reasons we REQUIRE Obedience training is to help the dog/handler learn basic techniques together. We know that, for many reasons, training doesn't always start the next day so we would rather you call us then let any potential situations develop.

If a situation develops and you need our help, please call any number that is listed immediately
