TRUST FUND FOR SPECIALISED MEDICAL CARE

Filling of Vacancies

The Trust Fund for Specialised Medical Care is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates who wish to be considered for appointment as:

1)Specialised Registered Medical Officer (Ref: TFSMC/11)

  1. Qualifications:
  1. A medical degree or diploma and full registration as a Medical Practitioner in accordance with legislation in force in Mauritius.
  2. At least five years’ experience as Medical Practitioner of which at least two years should be in cardiac surgery.
  3. An equivalent qualification and/or experience acceptable to the Trust Fund for Specialised Medical Care.

Candidates should produce written evidence of any experience claimed.

  1. Duties: 1.To be responsible to the Officer in Charge/Executive Director of the

Trust Fund for:

(i)Performing specialized clinical duties; and

(ii)Providing specialized medical coverage at night, during weekends and on public holidays and whenever necessary.

2.To perform such other duties directly related to the main duties listed above or related to the delivery of the output and results expected from the Specialised Registered Medical Officer in the roles ascribed to him/her.

Note: The incumbent may be required to perform night duties including Sundays, Public Holidays and officially declared cyclone days.

2) Specialised Physiotherapist(Ref: TFSMC/12)

IQualifications

  1. (i)Membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (M.C.S.P.)

OR

(ii)Bachelorship in Physiotherapy from a recognized institution.

OR

An equivalent qualification and/or experience acceptable to the Trust Fund for Specialised Medical Care.

  1. At least two years’ experience as Physiotherapist.

Candidates should produce written evidence of any experience claimed.

IIDuties:

  1. To attend to pre-operative patients with chest problems and difficulties, teach them breathing and coughing techniques and explain to them operative procedures (apparatus, connections, tubing etc.).
  2. To attend to immediate post-operative patients in ICU Cardiac – breathing exercises and stimulation techniques on ventilator, extubation.
  3. To attend to post-operative patients – breathing exercises, coughing and postural exercises etc.
  4. To prepare individual rehabilitation exercises to patients on discharge.
  5. To carry out cardiac rehabilitation group exercises to 6 weeks post-operative patients and PTCA patients during weekends (to be a key member of the cardiac rehabilitation team).
  6. To supervise and carry out such physical treatment (electrotherapy and exercises therapy) on patients referred to by cardiologist and cardiac surgeons at the Centre.
  7. To participate in preventive campaign on cardiac risk factors organized by the Centre.
  8. To perform such other duties directly related to the main duties listed above or related to the delivery of the output and results expected from the Specialised Physiotherapist in the roles ascribed to him/her.

NoteThe Specialised Physiotherapist will be required to work from 8.00 hrs to 18.00 hrs during weekdays and from 8.00 hrs to 12.00 hrs on Saturdays.

IIISalary: Rs 38350 x 1225 – 40800 x 1525 – 49950 x 1625 – 62950

3) Management Support Officer (Ref: TFSMC/13)

  1. Qualifications:

Candidates should hold:-

A. (i)A Cambridge School Certificate with credit in at least five subjects including English Language, French and Mathematics or Principles of Accounts obtained at not more than two sittings

or

(ii)passes not below Grade C in at least five subjects including English Language, French and Mathematics or Principles of Accounts obtained at not more than two sittings at the General Certificate of Education “Ordinary Level” provided that at one of the sittings, passes have been obtained either (i) in five subjects including English Language with at least Grade C in any two subjects or (ii) in six subjects including English Language with at least Grade C in any one subject.

Note

Candidates not possessing a credit in English Language at the Cambridge School Certificate will also be considered provided they possess passes in at least two subjects at “Principal Level” and one subject at “Subsidiary Level” as well as the General Paper obtained on one certificate at the Cambridge Higher School Certificate Examinations.

B.A Cambridge Higher School Certificate or Passes in at least two subjects obtained on one Certificate at the General Certificate of Education “Advanced Level”

or

an equivalent qualification to A and B above acceptable to the Board of Trustees.

IIDuties:

1. / To prepare, scrutinize and process documents/cases.
2. / To type and collate general office correspondence and documents according to competencies.
3. / To maintain files, forms, reports and other materials.
4. / To receive, sort and process mail and to prepare materials for mailing.
5. / To photocopy reports and other documents and operate standard office equipment such as telefax machine.
6. / To carry out word processing and data entry and to update information in a computer system.
7. / To carry out registry, simple finance, human resource and procurement and supply duties, under supervision.
8. / To assist in administrative duties within the division/section/unit and to provide general support to operational services.
9. / To draft replies to simple correspondence.
10. / To operate e-mail services, as and when required.
11. / To effect simple research on matters pertaining to the division/section/unit, as and when required.
12. / To keep records regarding documents, books and magazines of the Trust Fund, and to assist users by providing relevant information, whenever required.
13. / To assist in duties relating to committees, organization of official functions, training programmes and other activities.
14. / To use ICT in the performance of his duties.
15. / To perform such other duties directly related to the main duties listed above or related to the delivery of the output and results expected from the Management Support Officer in the roles ascribed to him/her.

IIISalary Scale: Rs 16400 x 325 – 17700 x 375 – 19575 x 475 – 21950 x 625 – 23200 x 775 – 32500

Mode of Application
