Guidelines & Expectations

Objective: To gain the basic knowledge, skills, and information necessary for planning various types of dwellings.

Textbook: Architecture – Residential Drafting and Design

***NO FOOD OR DRINK IN THE LAB***

  • You need to arrive to class ONTIME. Any student who accumulates 3 tardies to class will be assigned to one hour of detention.
  • When class begins you need to be in your assigned seat so that attendance can be taken and instructions for the day can be given.
  • During demonstrations and/or lessons you must pay close attention to the instructor, you will be using the information presented immediately after the discussion has concluded.
  • If you need to use the hall pass, please ask permission to leave first. Be considerate of others who may need to use the pass; keep your trips brief. Abuse of the hall pass will result in hall pass privileges being taken away from the offending student for a period of one week. During that time you will not be allowed to leave the room for any reason.
  • All cell phones will be taken on sight. Your parents may pick them up from the office at the end of the day.
  • Tables and countertops are not chairs or beds, do not sit or lie on them.
  • Chairs are to be used for sitting, do not ride them across the classroom. Stand up and push your chair when you need to move from the tables to the computers.
  • Mr. Hufnagle’s desk and computer are off limits to all students.

Computers:Each student is assigned to a computer and an account. You are to use only the computer and account assigned to you.REMEMBER that the computer policies set for the school district apply to this classroom. If you are found to be violating any computer policies, your account will be locked-out, and you will be referred to the office.

If you find that your workstation has been damaged in any way, please let me know a.s.a.p. so that you are not responsible for any damages caused by another student. In addition you are also responsible for keeping your workstation area clean and free of clutter, if this becomes a problem, computer privileges will be suspended.

Drawing Tools

Equipment:Each student will be completing a set of technical drawings, using traditional drafting tools. These tools are delicate and expensive, and need to be handled with care. Students are responsible for the condition of their drawing tools, and will be charged for any damaged or missing items.

Readings

Homework:There will be assigned readings and written homework completed in this class. These assignments are very important and will help you complete your daily class work. All homework assignments will be checked for completeness and accuracy.
