Texan Scuba @ The Blue Lagoon

A PADI 5 Star Instructor Development Center

2815 Montgomery Road , Huntsville TX 77340

Thank you for choosing Texan Scuba @ The Blue Lagoon to begin your Adventure of a Lifetime!

Your adventure starts with the PADI online learning process. You will be issued an activation code through email, which you will need to redeem as soon as you receive it so you can sign in for your PADI Open Water Course. One of the first things you will see when signing in is a PADI Medical Release form which must be filled out properly. There are some yes and no questions that you need to look over and answer. If you answer yes to any of the questions you will need to have a physician sign off on your paper work to allow you to participate in the class. Your online class must be completed before your arrival to class and a printed copy of your final exam must be brought with you.

Unless you have signed up for a weekday/ private class, your class will begin at 5:00pm on the Friday of your scheduled weekend. We will meet at the Blue Lagoon, 649 Pinedale Road Huntsville Tx, 77340.

Here we will fit you for your class gear, go over your paper work, take a quick review quiz, learn about gear set up and navigation, and allow you to browse through our store to make any purchases you will need to continue your diving adventure.

Saturday and Sundays class will begin around 8:00am and continue to approximately 5:00pm each day.

Your instructor will make contact with you either by phone or email for an introduction and allow you to ask him/her any questions you might have before your big day!

For those of you wishing to camp with us at the Blue Lagoon, we have a Co-ed, family style bunkhouse. We have hot outdoor showers, and porta potties. We consider it fancy camping. We supply clean bedding and a meal on Saturday night. For Friday evening, feel free to bring something to throw on our grill and join us around the Headquarters.

This Class is all-inclusive and includes air fill fees, park entry fees, your tuition and PADI online Fees.

One of our most frequently questions asked by our new divers is should I buy my own gear.

We firmly believe that it is in the best interest of every student to own at a minimum your mask, fins, booties, and snorkel. You are entering into a sport that will take you underwater on a great adventure. You want to own your own personal gear. You want a mask that fits properly and that no one else has had their face in, and a snorkel that no one else has had in their mouth. You want fins that don’t rub blisters and propel you smoothly through the water. Having the proper fitting gear will make your diving so much more enjoyable.

Should you decide to purchase a full set of SCUBA gear you will receive aseason pass to the lagoon allowing you to dive any time we are open free of charge!

We offer a large selection of personal gear here at Texan Scuba. We invite you to try it on your arrival Friday night at the lagoon, or better yet drop into the shop beforehand and do some looking around. If you have specific questions about gear you can talk to Jim Huston, our shop manager and one of our open water instructors.

We offer numerous group trips throughout the year, traveling to Cozumel and Isla Mujeres Mexico, Roatan, Honduras, The Bahamas, Cayman Islands and many more destinations. We can arrange private trips, and also cater to Cruise Ship Divers that we can pick up right off the pier in Mexico! Our dive shop in Cozumel Mexico can be visited at
We are expanding our Travel Shop which can be visited at

Welcome to the Texan Scuba family, you will find we offer a great family atmosphere and we hope to see you under the sea soon!

Sincerely,
