  1. Travel Reimbursement:

The Testing Office will cover TC’s travel for mandatory pick-ups and return.

The TC will keep track of his/her mileage on the Test Coordinator Mileage Form (Appendix F). Only mandatory trips will be reimbursed unless approved by Testing Office.

  1. School Test Coordinator
  1. Responsibilities:
  2. Serves as the school’s contact person with the Testing Office;
  3. Coordinates the districts testing program in the school;
  4. Informs the principal and/or the Testing Office Manager of any problems in the testing program;
  5. Shares responsibility with the principal for the school’s test program administration, including test security, scheduling, and monitoring;
  6. Share responsibility with Principal for leading investigations related to testing;
  7. Attends training sessions for school test coordinators and trains test administrators as per instructions from the Testing Office;
  8. Maintains complete and accurate records of test materials received from and returned to the Testing Office and accounts for any and all discrepancies;
  9. Maintains complete and accurate records of test materials assigned to and returned by test administrators and hold them accountable for any and all discrepancies;
  10. Assures that tests are administered and processed properly;
  11. Assures that test booklets and answer sheets are in good order prior to and after testing, with procedures established for checking materials for torn or missing pages, extra marks, and any abuse;
  12. Interprets test results to faculty, parents, and others;
  13. Maintains security of all tests and complies with the Florida State Security Rule and Stature and Lake County School Board Policy;
  14. Ensures a copy of new/transferring students’FCAT/ACT/SAT/ALG 1/ PERT scores are sent to Testing Office with student numbers attached.
  1. Test Materials
  1. General: TC is responsible for all test materials on campus generating from the Testing Office. TC is primary contact with the Testing Office for all tests described in this manual regardless of who is administering the test at school sites; therefore any questions/concerns should come directly from the TC.
  1. Ordering Materials: Use Test Materials Order Form (See Testing Website) to order all needed testing test materials. Allow a 24 hour turn around for pick up. To ensure that TC’s maintain control of all testing materials on campus, all materials must be ordered through the TC only. Send broken calculators to the Testing Office to receive replacements. Always call before traveling to the Testing Office. Secure test booklets may not be sent through interoffice mail (Jackrabbit).
  1. Security: All test booklets received from Testing are secure. Keep in locked storage when not in use. Have TA’s sign for the materials received.
  1. Packing: TC is responsible for ensuring correct packing/return procedures are followed for all test materials on ALL TESTS including FAA/CELLA. Materials packaged incorrectly must be repacked in most cases before scoring will occur.
  1. Missing/Damaged Test Materials: Count test materials before signing for them or as soon as returning to the school site. Notify the Testing Office immediately if any materials are missing. FDOE requires an investigation be conducted if schools do not notify the Testing Department of missing materials within 24 hours after receiving materials.

Florida Kindergarten Readiness Screener (FLKRS) / August 18th – September 30th / Designed to provide the screening of each child’s readiness for Kindergarten. The FLKRS includes a subset of the Early Childhood Observation System (ECHOS) and the first two measures of the Florida Assessments for Instruction in Reading (FAIR) for Kindergarten (Letter Naming Fluency and Initial Sound Fluency) to gather information of a child’s development in emergent literacy.
Florida Assessment for Instruction in Reading (FAIR) / AP1 – Aug. 18 - Nov. 13
AP2 – Nov. 14 - Mar. 3
AP3 – Mar. 4 - June 4 / A comprehensive set of reading assessments to support teachers and student learning.
*focus on assessment for learning and provide information to support instructional decision-making
*focus on the elements of reading and are tied to the Sunshine State Standards
They provide individual student information to: Evaluate progress towards end of year benchmarks; Diagnose learning needs; Set instructional goals; and Monitor instructional progress.
Results predict end of year performance on FCAT. Reading comprehension and oral reading fluency passages are equated for difficulty to allow for accurate progress monitoring.
Gr. 3-12 are taken on the computer and are adaptive to each student allowing a much more comprehensive picture of the student’s strengths and weaknesses.
Comprehensive English Language Learning Assessment (CELLA) / March 2nd- April 3rd / The Comprehensive English Language Learning Assessment (CELLA) is a four-skill language proficiency assessment that is designed to provide:
  • Measures of proficiency in all language domains: listening, speaking, reading, writing and comprehension.
  • Evidence of program accountability in accordance with Title III of No Child Left Behind (NCLB).
  • Data is useful for charting student progress over time and for newly-arrived students, charting progress over the first year.
  • Information about the language proficiency levels of individual students that can be used in making decisions regarding exit from the English Languages Learner (ELL) program.
  • Diagnostically useful information about individual students’ strengths and weaknesses in English.

Stanford Achievement Test (SAT 10) / May 26th-29th (Lvl. 1 - 3rd Gr.)
Summer Administration – TBA / The SAT 10 is a standardized, norm-referenced achievement test that utilizes a multiple choice format assessing Reading Comprehension.
Summer school students in 3rd grade must attain a score of 45% (PR) to be promoted.
Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test
FCAT Reading/Math 2.0 – RE-TAKE / Fall - Oct. 6th-17th
Spring - Mar. 23rd-Apr. 10th / The FCAT 2.0 is a criterion-referenced test that measures student achievement of the Next Generation sunshine State Standards. FCAT 2.0 provides parents, teachers, policy makers, and the general public with an understanding of how well students are learning these standards.
Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test
FCAT Science 2.0 / April 14th – 17th
Grades 5 and 8 ONLY / Standardized, criterion referenced. Assesses student achievement on selected Sunshine State Standard benchmarks.
Florida Standards Assessment (FSA)
English, Language Arts and Math / March 23rd-May 14th
See Testing Calendar for specific dates. / The new Florida Standards, adopted by the State Board of Education in February after unprecedented public input and review, will prepare Florida students for success in college, career and in life by emphasizing analytical thinking. The new test will provide a more authentic assessment of the Florida Standards, because if till include more than multiple choice questions. Students will be asked to create graphs, interact with test content and write and respond in different ways than on traditional tests. New question types will assess students’ higher-order thinking skills in keeping with the higher expectations of the Florida Standards.

National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) / Jan. 27th – Mar. 7th / Reports academic achievement of our Nation’s students and allows comparison within a state by subgroup, across states and regions of the country, and with the nation as a whole.
NAEP is the nation’s only ongoing survey of what student know and can do in various subject areas (reading, mathematics, writing, and science at the state and national levels; U.S. history, geography, civics, economics, world history, foreign language, and the arts at the national level.
NAEP’s two major goals are to measure student achievement and to report change in performance over time.
PSAT / Oct. 15th
Grade 10 / The Preliminary SAT is a standardized test that provides firsthand practice for the SAT. It measures critical reading skills, math problem-solving skills and writing skills.
Florida Alternate Assessment (FAA) / Mar. 2nd – Apr. 8th / The FAA is designed to give ESE students, for whom the FCAT is deemed inappropriate, the opportunity to demonstrate what they know. It is directly tied to the Access Points which provide a tiered entry into the Sunshine State Standards for students at three levels of complexity – Participatory, Supported, and Independent. The Florida Alternate Assessment has this same multi-level structure, which gives students greater access to the assessment items.
Naglieri Nonverbal Ability Test (NNAT) / May 18th – 22nd
Grade 1 / Measures ability without the requirements of reading, writing, or speaking. Focuses on reasoning and problem=solving skills. The test is considered ideal for those with limited English proficiency, as such is considered cultural-fair.
Florida End-of-Course (EOC) Assessment / Fall – Sept. 15th – 25th

Summer – July 13th– 16th / The Florida EOC Assessments are tests designed to measure student achievement of the NGSSS for specific courses, as outlined in their course descriptions. These assessments are part of Florida’s Next Generation Strategic Plan for the purpose of increasing student achievement and improving college and career readiness.
EOC’s are administered for U.S. History, Civics, Algebra 1, Biology 1 and Geometry. ALG II EOC will be added in the Spring of 2015.
Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS-Advanced) / Mar. 30th – May 29th / TIMSS Advanced measures trends in advanced mathematics and physics achievement for students in their final year of secondary school. It will provided information about how many students are excelling at a highly specialized science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) content in comparison to students in other countries around the world.
RediStep / Oct. 15th
7th and 8th Grade / Provides early feedback to help students identify the skills they need to be college ready. Measures reading, writing and mathematics skills students need for success in high school. Results provide information on what skills students possess, the skills they need to develop and advice on how to further develop those skills.
