TESTIMONY ON RI HPV VACCINE MANDATE, August 27, 2015

From Liberty Goodwin, DirectorToxics Information Project (TIP),

Providence, RI, Tel. 401-351-9193, E-Mail:

NOTE: Toxics Information Project (TIP), does not give medical advice, nor are we calling for elimination of vaccines. Our role is simply to share reports, scientific articles and news, and raise common sense questions, with the aim of enhancing public awareness of potential risks to human health & environment. We seek to encourage sensible and practical public policy in these matters. With this testimony, we put forth the inquiries below.

**PROBLEM: COMPLEX NATURE OF VACCINE EVALUATION:

1.We are exposed to a huge number of potentially disease-causing factors, including as many as 80,000 chemicals in widely-used products. This creates a “chemical stew” within which it is almost impossible to determine just one causative agent for a particular illness.

2.Many serious health conditions take years to develop, especially cancer.

3.“Science” consists of often conflicting studies and research, and is also frequently contaminated by conflicts of interest – such as industry bases or funding. There is even a report that was given in the U.S. Congress of destruction of CDC vaccine research documents, hiding evidence of possible racial factors.

4.Individuals differ widely in their reactions to various substance exposures – one striking example: Is a peanut “safe”?

5.To confuse things further, many people carry carcinogens or disease-causing microbes in their bodies for years without showing signs of disease. (This includes findings re: HPV found in healthy people).

QUESTION ONE: Given all these conflicting, complex factors, how can anyone declare “Proof”

of the safety and efficacy (or lack of same) of any vaccine, medication or product? Isn’t this all just evidence, and isn’t it clear that the answer to this question differs on an individual basis?

If so, can children experiencing reactions to the first or second shot be excused from further injections? If not, why not?

**PROBLEM: Vaccine manufacturers have No risk or responsibility for any adverse effects from their products – that has been assumed by the Federal Government (and the taxpayers). Many injury and death claims have been filed, including for the HPV applications – and one report lists a two billion dollar payout figure on these.

QUESTION TWO: If there are no safety issues with Gardasil, why can’t its makers accept liability – and why are billions of dollars being paid in reparation?

*************************************************************************************************************************

**PROBLEM: HPV is not spread to the general public in daily life – only by sexual contact.

Therefore, anyone not engaging in sex with an infected person is quite safe.

**QUESTION THREE: Why isn’t this a matter for parents to address, by supervising & teaching their kids, as with other health issues affecting individuals? Why attach to school attendance? Is it feared that kids will be fornicating in the restrooms?

**************************************************************************************************************************

**PROBLEM: I have read that the RI General Assembly passed legislation requiring that all CDC –recommended vaccinations be required here.

**QUESTION FOUR: Does the RI DOH actually have the power to determine vaccine mandates?

A FEW RESOURCES ON VACCINE CONCERNS

NOTE: As previously indicated, this is not an “anti-vaccine” call. Our position is that vaccines, like other medical options, should be available to those who want and can tolerate them. This is just an attempt to balance the usually skewed mainstream reporting with another part of the picture. Also, keep in mind that many mainstream organizations, researchers and physicians, while supporting vaccine use, are opposed to mandates for some of the reasons in this testimony. An example is the American Association of Physicians & Surgeons, (AAAPS) from whose website the first link below has been taken.

CONCERNS ABOUT HPV VACCINE EXPRESSED BY

A PRINCIPAL MERCK CHIEF INVESTIGATOR

In an article that appeared in MedScape on July 26, and was quickly taken off the website, Diane Harper, M.D., a principal chief investigator in clinical HPV trials, was quoted as saying, “The side effects that have been reported are real and they cannot be brushed aside.” She suggested that physicians not vaccinate patients with personal or family histories of the more serious complications, which have included neurologic disorders, thromboembolism, and autoimmune conditions. “The cause of recent complications remains a mystery and it is difficult to know whether they are linked to vaccines,” the article stated. = It's highly unusual for a researcher to publicly criticize a medicine or vaccine she helped get approved.

SOME VACCINE ADVERSE EVENTS REPORTING SYSTEM (VAERS) FIGURES

-Why-is-the-CDC-ignoring-explosion-of-Recorded-HPV-Vaccine-injuries-as-other-countries-move-to-take-protective-action"As of Dec. 13, 2013, there were a total of 29,918 vaccine reaction reports made to the federal Vaccine Adverse Events Reporting System (VAERS) associated with Gardasil vaccinations, including 140 deaths. There were a total of 2,652 vaccine adverse reaction reports made to VAERS associated with Cervarix vaccinations, including 13 deaths. (Merck’s Gardasil vaccine, which was the first HPV vaccine licensed in the U.S., has the majority of the HPV vaccine market in the U.S.).

STUDY REVEALS "UNAVOIDABLE" DANGER OF HPV VACCINES:

A new review published in Autoimmunity Reviews titled, "On the relationship between human papilloma virus vaccine and autoimmune disease," is destined to reopen the controversy surrounding numerous reports of HPV vaccine-induced harm that have surfaced ever since their widespread use, beginning with the FDA's 2006 approval of Merck & Co.'s Gardasil.[i]

The study points out, "Along with the introduction of the HPV vaccines, several cases of onset or exacerbations of autoimmune diseases following the vaccine shot have been reported in the literature and pharmacovigilance databases, triggering concerns about its safety." Following an extensive review of the biomedical literature, they listed conditions in which HPV vaccination is most likely linked to the development of autoimmune diseases ( Has links to some solid supportive studies.)
