Student Performance

Data Document2014-2015

Assessment Quality(Type your response here.): Mother Theresa Catholic Academy administers the TerraNova to students in grades 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7; and the Explore test in grade 8. These tests are psychometric normed tests that are vetted for validity, reliability, and bias. The faculty have performed a scope and sequence of the objectives the TerraNova and Explore tests measures and compared these objectives to the learning objectives in the school’s curriculum for each content-area in every grade. The results of this analysis identified that the curriculum learning objectives in English/language arts, reading, mathematics, science, and social studies in all grades are aligned with the objectives measured on the TerraNova and Explore tests. The faculty and administration have grade-level meetings to discuss the results of these tests to set high priority curricular needs. For example, the results of these meetings at the end of academic year 2013-2014on the TerraNova for the March 2012, 2013, and 2014 testsset the high priority curricular needs in all grades in reading and mathematics.

Test Administration(Type your response here.):

Mother Theresa Catholic Academy administers the TerraNova and Explore according to the instructions on the test administrator’s manual with fidelity. The TeraNova and Explore tests are administered according to the established test times and test days according to guidelines established by the Office of Catholic Schools. All students take the tests and accommodations are made for students with an Individual Education Plan as specified, such as taking standardized psychometric tests untimed.
