Terms and examples of the Group Valuation Project Point Allocation Contract

The Valuation Analysis Group project conducted in this class will be submitted on the due date with the Financial Statements Group Project Point Allocation Contract attached. Each individual in the group must agree to the contract’s allocation of effort and grade, or the contract will go to binding arbitration. In arbitration, the course instructor will determine the allocations based on each individual’s submission of “evidence” of their efforts. This means that each person in the group should save files, e-mail exchanges or any other evidence that may be supportive in their cause in the event the contract goes to arbitration.

Once the allocation of effort is established and the project raw score is determined, the points received by each member of the group will be calculated as follows:

1)The raw score of the project is multiplied by the number of participants in the group resulting in a factor.

2)The % of effort for each individual from the contract is multiplied by the factor determined in step one, and each individual receives those number of points, subject to a maximum award (cap) of the raw score of the project plus 10% of maximum potential raw score for the project.

3)The project raw score and allocation process above are not negotiable.

Examples

A)There are four people in a group. The contract is executed with each party responsible for 25% of the effort. The project raw score is 95 of 100. From step #1, 4 x 95 = 380. From step #2, each person receives 25% of 380 for point awards of 95 each.

B)There are four people in a group. The contract is executed with one person responsible for 30% of the effort, a second person responsible for 30% of the effort, and the remaining two people each responsible for 20% of the effort. The project raw score is 95 of 100. From step #1, 4 x 95 = 380. From step #2, each of the first two people receive 105 points (30% x 380 = 114 subject to a cap of 95 plus 10% of 100 or 105 each.) Each of the remaining two people will receive 76 points (20% x 380 = 76).

C)There are three people in a group. The contract is executed with one person responsible for 50% of the effort, one person responsible for 30% of the effort, and the final person responsible for 20% of the effort. The project raw score is 75 of 100. From step #1, 3 x 75 = 225. From step #2, the first person receives 85 points (50% x 225 = 112.5 subject to a cap of 75 plus 10% of 100.) The second person receives 67.5 points (30% x 225 = 67.5), and the third person receives 45 points (20% x 225 = 45).

D)There are three people in a group, the contract is executed with two people each responsible for 45% of the effort and the third person responsible for 10% of the effort. The project raw score is 95 of 100. From step #1, 3 x 95 = 285. From step #2, each of the first two people receive 105 points (45% x 285 = 128.3 subject to a cap of 95 plus 10% of 100) and the third person receives 28.5 points (10% x 285 = 28.5).

E)There are three people in a group, the contract is executed with two people each responsible for 45% of the effort and the third person responsible for 10% of the effort. The project raw score is 62.5 of 100. From step #1, 3 x 62.5 =187.5. From step #2, each of the first two people receive 72.5 points (45% x 187.5 = 84.38 subject to a cap of 62.5 plus 10% of 100) and the third person receives 18.8 points (10% x 187.5 = 18.8).
