12/356 RIGHTS OF WAY MATTERS

a. Flood damage to unclassified county road at Hole House Cottage – Alan Harrison explained that this path forms part of an important and well-established circular route that is popular among walkers and distributed photographs showing the recent damage. He reported discussing with DCC Countryside Rangers making a joint approach to DCC Highways regarding works required to remedy the damage and prevent a recurrence. He may ask this Council to intervene in future.

b. Bridleway at Fiddleford Mill – Weather delays to the turbine works are expected to require that the closure be extended beyond the original six months. The alternative route is barely passable on account of the mud and Alan Harrison is pressing for work to be done to improve this. Again, he may ask this Council to intervene in future.

c. Diversion of FP56 at Puxey – Alan Harrison reported that the diversion proposed is regarded as acceptable to those users he has consulted.

d. North Dorset Business Park and FP70 - Alan Harrison was pleased that the concerns he expressed about the routing of this path had been included in the Council’s comments on the application. He asked if any comment had been made about his other concern; namely, the creation of a new footpath/cycleway link between the proposed development and the town centre via the proposed extension of the Trailway northwards from the Railways Gardens. Councillor Fox said the comment was noted and supported.

e. Bile Phone Mast Rollout plans review. Alan Harrison explained that every November he checks that the Council has received details of the Rollout Plans from the telecoms operators and reviews them for anything affecting the town. He has completed the latest review and has no concerns to report.

12/359 HIGHWAYS MATTERS

a.  Manston Road footpath barrier – Now completed.

b.  Manston Road Pavement Completion – DCC has now confirmed that the land transfer legal formalities have been completed and it is now scheduling the works. The clerk will continue to press for updates.

c.  Station Road – The Clerk read a report received from Councillor Lacey that, at her prompting, the Roadspace management team at DCC has agreed to require Wessex Water to make good the damage caused to the “No Entry” road marking at the top of Station Road and other lines by their works in The Row.

d.  Butts Pond – Councillor Reed intends to report that the pavements are becoming unusable because of the puddles along them.

12/360 CORRESPONDENCE

Notification has been received from DCC by email of the submission to the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government of the Bournemouth, Dorset and Poole Minerals Core Strategy.

12/361 INFORMATION FROM MEMBERS

Councillor Cowell reported that the footpath leading from Filbridge Rise into the Butts Pond local nature reserve is badly affected by litter and fly-tipping and encouraged other members to see the problem for themselves with a view, possibly, to raising the matter more formally in future.

There being no further business the Chairman declared the meeting closed at 8.18 pm.
