Please read the following information carefully as it sets out the terms and conditions of SONG membership. A successful audition and acceptance of a place in the SONG Company for our current production by payment of the £3 membership fee will be deemed acceptance of the terms and conditions as set out below.
1. HOUSE RULES
SONG Company members at ALL rehearsals must:
Register attendance
Notify a SONG Committee member if they are to be absent from a rehearsal (primarily the SONG Secretary (Linda - 07720784757 or email ) - NOT another cast member. It is not sufficient to notify a member of the Production Team.
Not leave a rehearsal without informing a SONG committee member and obtaining permission.
Not bring friends/relatives into the rehearsal room - unless under special circumstances arranged with the SONG Committee.
Dress Code
Wear jazz shoes or dance shoes/dance boots but NOT TRAINERS, flip flops or other shoes - unless this rule is changed by the production choreographer in agreement with SONG's Health and Safety Co-ordinator.
Wear BLACK dance/jazz pants, leggings or track suit bottoms. NOT wear jeans or unsuitable tight-fitting trousers or cropped trousers.
Wear SONG black t-shirt.
NOT wear jewellery, watches or inappropriate piercings.
Tie long hair neatly back in a ponytail or similar. Long fringes must also be clipped back.
Conduct
Treat the SONG Committee members, Production Team and each other with respect at all times.
Must be fully committed to SONG and make every effort to attend ALL rehearsals and assist at all fundraising and promotional activities.
NOT eat chewing gum or other foods during rehearsals.
NOT use drinks in the rehearsal rooms whilst rehearsal in progress - only at break times.
Not enter the kitchen.
Not smoke in the rehearsal room nor leave the room to smoke whilst a rehearsal in progress.
Have mobile phones switched off and must not use mobile phones to take photographs during rehearsals.
Work safely and sensibly with props and equipment - in particular if this requires working above floor level.
Report to a Committee Member any accident/incident - no matter how trivial.
Check the SONG website (songuk.org) regularly as this will be the main form of communication between the Committee and SONG members, together with contact emails.
Treat scripts and rehearsal materials responsibly and return in good condition.
Bring a notebook and pencil to all rehearsals.
Fire Safety
Know the location of the fire exits, fire extinguishers and assembly point.
Obey calmly and immediately any fire drill or emergency warning instruction given.
Not place any obstruction in the way of a fire exit.
Any disregard for SONG's House Rules will lead to
i. A verbal warning
Any further disregard:
ii. A meeting with two members of the SONG Committee, when a decision will be made regarding future membership of SONG.
2. COLLECTION FROM REHEARSALS OR EVENTS.
Collection from rehearsals, performances and or promotional events
a) St. John'sChurch Ainsdale.
The SONG Committee request that members be dropped off and collected from the car park outside the Church Hall rehearsal premises and NOT on the main Liverpool Road.
We will assume consent to the collection rules as explained above unless informed to the contrary IN WRITING. Such information will be kept on record.
b) Other premises
On these occasions the rules for collection will be clearly set out on the web site the week before the event and attendance at the event will be deemed acceptance of these terms.
3. CONTACT NUMBERS AND EMAILS
Song requires at least two emergency contact numbers and a current email address of parents/carers.
Please ensure that SONG is advised of any changes immediately.
Please check emails regularly.
4. PHOTOGRAPHS AND RECORDINGS.
All those auditioning will be photographed ( head and shoulders) in order to assist the Audition Panel in their deliberations. The photographs of unsuccessful candidates will be disposed of securely.
Photographs of SONG's rehearsals, activities and productions may, from time to time be posted on our web site, published in the local press or displayed on boards to promote SONG. Neither names nor identifying personal details will be supplied/published by SONG.
Head and shoulders photographs are taken by a professional photographer to appear in our show programme, along with rehearsal pictures.
We will assume consent to the use of photographers, as explained above, unless informed to the contrary in writing.
Recordings
THE TAKING OF STILL PHOTOGRAPHS AND/OR AUDIO-ONLY AND/OR AUDI0-VISUAL RECORDINGS OF THE PRODUCTION IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED. By way of example only - no posting of audio-only and/or audio-visual recordings to You Tube or other social networking sites is permitted. Any such recordings, broadcasting or posting is copyright infringement and will expose the Licensee (SONG) to serious legal consequences.
