Long Range Goals

Increase Adult Leader Involvement, and provide life skills training

Improve skills in selections of healthy foods. Adopt healthful eating and lifestyle behaviors. Adopt skills in resource management for stretching food resources. Improve skills in preparation of nutritious, economical foods. Change eating habits to include a healthy diet and a decrease in high calorie foods.

Quality early childhood care

Help parents improve their knowledge of child development and effective discipline and guidance

Increased number of leaders and clubs. Through participation in 4-H programs youth will demonstrate attainment of life skills.

Participants will: Choose foods around the Food Guide Pyramid. Adjust menus/recipes to achieve more fiber, less fat, less sugar, or less salt in the diet. Report eating more fruits, vegetables, and whole grain products. Report consuming low-fat or fat free milk more often. Keep food at safe temperatures. Use wise shopping techniques.

Early childhood care givers provide better service to children and parents

Parents raising their children using more nurturing techniques.
